is it the same for you? Prestigious

Like, I saw Waxahatchee on Saturday and part of the discussion leaving the show was about how it must be so cool to write a song like that and just know that it's a greatest hit right away

Thank you to whoever pointed out that the Mk.Gee song was in The Bear. Was driving me crazy trying to figure out why it sounded so familiar to me lol.

LOL - can't unhear this now.

I felt like that production style was similar to some of the early Mac DeMarco stuff, just intentionally bad production with guitars sounding out of tune etc. Some of the guitar strumming on the Mk.gee song sounds like what you'd hear coming out of an 11 year old learning their first chords.

  8. The fart comment is funny because the song is very blown out but I can't disagree more with it (or the Mac stuff) sounding "out of tune." It's probably just semantics because I would understand vintage or even warbly, but it's not like intentionally out of tune or poorly performed lol

yes I’ve tried multiple times to get into them and even saw them live before the hotelier last year and they just do nothing for me at all, I don’t get the hype.

  11. I'm surprised, they've evolved musically like three times at this point so I figured something would resonate

I like draw down the moon and then only a handful of songs outside that album

I don't like the first two at all, but DDTM and NMG are incredible.

Yeah, I agree it doesn't sound out of tune, the whole thing just sounds blown out and IMO ruins what might otherwise be a good or even great song, but I can hardly make my way through it.

It’s been one round and we have an uneven number, maybe we can make room for them? Or you can’t increase the group after it started?

  20. That mk.gee song immediately stood out because it sounded like it was played in a wacky low or alternate tuning, which I’m a sucker for. Gave me Joni Mitchell vibes for that reason

Yeah probably a bad comparison - for the Mac stuff it was more like a production style and the (for lack of a better term, I'll call it pitch shifting) guitar effect on some of those early records that could be similarly off-putting as this was for me.

  22. Honestly the reason I love that stuff (and like the Mk.gee record) lol. Different strokes!
