So mine is the only song without a description (I thought I would have time to go back and add it, but the week got away from me). It's the second song on the playlist, "Level On the Inside" by a local Chicago band that came a minor alt-radio hit at least in that area. I saw them a bunch in those years - including opening for Third Eye Blind! - and got to play the song on stage as part of a band we put together in guitar class my senior year. The part around 2:45 where the rest of the band drops out and it's just the vocal is still a "hell yeah!" musical moment for me every time I hear it, and they helped me get into the local music scene.
My backup song was "Sugar In Your Gas Tank" by Less Than Jake. I had some of the lyrics written in white out on my backpack strap: If I had it in me To stop my random thoughts And my dumb dreams I could deal with this nonstop spinning world
This might be my favorite playlist yet. Even some of the tracks I don’t know give me high school vibes haha.
I didn't get into most of these bands until like right after high school but the nostalgia factor is there still for sure lol
I don't know the age range in the current league but it's cool to see other songs I could've potentially picked from the same era or had I been in high school a couple years earlier as well
HAhahahahaha so just the people in this group alone listening to this playlist will nearly DOUBLE the Monthly listeners for this band Halfwayhome. Wild - I don't think I've ever seen a number that low - what a deep cut pull , whoever selected that one!
This is my favorite playlist so far. The way I ran out of points so fast, jeez. Tough, tough choices were made!!
I can’t decide whether the move is to submit a chaotic song that people may actually like, or to just go all out with something that’s not even really listenable or has an unreasonably long runtime lol
I have a basic answer that will probably do well and several more interesting answers that will perform horribly lol
