I’ve tried so many times. Can’t stand the nu-metal elements. I’m sorry! The +++ album had cool stuff on it though.

  2. This is maybe the craziest take of yours I've ever seen. The nu-metal stuff isn't even super prevalent on Koi No Yokan or Gore!

  4. Haha I'm sorry, y0u're obviously allowed to not like Deftones, it's just the first time I've encountered that opinion in the wild. The only people I've encountered that don't like that band are people who don't like metal/heavy music at all. Wild stuff

I’ll try again someday soon! It’s probably been a year or two.

  6. It's not even my favorite (though it is top five), but my suggestion for someone looking for the least amount of nu-metal influence would be to probably check out Koi No Yokan.

Diamond Eyes is my favorite Deftones album but it can get a bit nu-metal-y at times I guess lol

  8. It's my second favorite after White Pony, but both of those have some pretty heavy nu-metal tracks ("CMND/CNTRL" and "Elite" come to mind lol)

Yeah I am not sure what is going on, but the app won't let me move the round start time earlier or later, it's absolutely stuck. I'll keep exploring it, but so far... the app isn't my friend here

I don't remember Ohms having many nu-metal elements on it

  11. I feel like the production kind of steers it into that territory since they got Terry Date back but I could be wrong re: the actual songs

  13. Never a bad reason to listen to Deftones!

is it the same for you? Prestigious

I don't hate Deftones, but I've never listened to them and heard why people love them so much.

Yeah I've never understood it. Don't hate at all, just don't get it

  16. "Swerve City" riff really explains it all

  17. @Gianni I had a feeling that was you with the Walkin' on the Sun pick

  18. I didn’t get Deftones at all until Diamond Eyes. Even then, for a long time that was the only record of theirs I really cared for. Probably wasn’t until maybe 2017 or so before records like KNY, SNW, and WP all started rapidly clicking for me

Hmm, I just re-read the prompt for the next round and now I'm not sure what to do.

It says a song that reminds you of high school and I had been thinking of songs I listened to in high school but it could be broader than that.

With that being said, I’m deciding between a song from a local band I saw a ton in high school and a song most probably know (at least the artist) but that I loved so much I wrote some of its lyrics on my backpack in white out.

We named our drinking spot in the woods “The Overpass”, my first drink was sneaking a 40 year old bottle of Amaretto and I went to the hospital with alcohol poisoning jr year from drinking a bottle of Southern Comfort. But I will refrain from picking that song

  21. Honestly a great pick and story but I understand your restraint. I also drank a bottle of SoCo in high school but I must have had some help because I mostly just woke up with the most fucked up hangover of my life

Damn, someone beat me to Motion City Soundtrack, but I bet they didn’t pick a song from My Dinosaur Life like I was going to.

What’s the age range that High School covers? In the UK it’s a different setup and not sure which years to consider, think I’ve gone too old

  24. For me it was 14-17, but I believe depending on how a person’s birthday fell in the calendar year they could wind up being a 13 year old freshman or an 18 year old senior. So just think of those mid-teen years
