RE: Youtube TV. i read that Youtube did this same thing with Disney somewhat recently and it was resolved within 2 days of the removal of the channels.

additionally, i find it hard to believe this will last a long time due to the upcoming March Madness next month. YTTV will bleed subscriptions if they don’t resolve it by then. That, however, isn’t helpful in the short term if it does last more than 1 week.

Does anyone have experience with Fubo? I have never tried it, but the list of channels seems REALLY strong- especially seeing that the rate for their basic channels is the same as the rate for the next tier up (after the first month, it seems… hoping that’s not just a typo). i’d be intrigued by that, as the price is comparable to YTTV and also DirecTV Stream. i do not want to go to Directv because they require a 24 month subscription.

 

Do you consider casting the kind of spoilers you avoid?

In non spoilery stuff the BB casting is laughably bad while the survivor choices are something to watch out for.

 

Now, onto The Challenge. I think it’s very clearly the way these shows are edited that shows why 90 mins is so much more important than 60 minutes nowadays. I am rewatching Vendettas and I don’t feel like I’m missing out, but when I watched All Stars last night, it felt like there was absolutely zero politicking, which I find so hard to believe given who won the daily. Something I really appreciated about S40 was that they continued to drop bread crumbs early on in the season about what would happen later in the game- ie. tons of chatter and various scenes showing the cracks in the Vacation alliance’s foundation, or conversations between people that would later turn into major conflicts 5 episodes later…

this episode showed very minimal discussion aside from the people who were actively targeted. I barely know about who is working together this season so far, and we’re 1/3 of the way through the season.

Anyway, I’m still loving this season, Frank has been an incredible breath of fresh air. i LOVED the way they showed his conversation with Kellyanne early in the episode. I really hope he comes back to the flagship one of these days.

Yeah the politics are barely there, like didn't we go from Steve and Adam in the bathroom TALKING about working out deals, straight to nominations then straight to the elimination? And then when the others are chosen is when we actually see some of the discussions that were had.

I think there was potential going into the season but we're not seeing any depth or storytelling that shows these people actually maneuvering through the game. Hell I loved how Veronica was super sneaky last week and was the one behind Nicole getting all the blame.....show me more of that!

I do think he wants to come back, he made a tiktok vid of him mouthing the words to some song asking for money so the fandom is taking that as him saying HEY PRODUCTION GIVE ME THIS MUCH AND I'M IN. Cuz from the interviews he's been doing it really seems he's in a competitive headspace, he's hungry to win, but he's also got a life so if he's gonna dedicate the time to do the flagship it needs to be worth it. I'm hoping production is paying attention to social media because Frank is clearly the center of all discussions online and he knows how to make good TV. Like Bananas and Wes, he knows they're there to make a TV show so he'll make sure the fans are satisfied, he has no problem at all being the villain.

I'm so happy Ashley is back on the flagship!! I think cast started flying out literally yesterday and I dunno how many days they dedicate to offering prepared prior to actual filming......so I guess Frank is still a maybe possibility?? I know he said he WANTS to do it but it's gotta be worth it and his outside life has to line up. I need an unshackled Frank, not holding himself back and being a master of chaos haha. Rogan is back!! I don't know ANY of these rookie guys but it seems we have some muscleheads, as far as rookie girls fo....Dee from Survivor is someone that has the potential to go farrrrr. There's a reason she won her season she's for the smarts and physicality to win stuff.

Over the next week we should be seeing more reports if who's flying out. As long as there's no Fessy or Jordan it's all good! I saw rumors last night saying Wes was being in the convo.......I hope so!

 

Jordan is signed up to appear at Zach’s podcast show with Devin and Michele in a few days/week so I highly doubt he would be on. I would love for Wes to come back too.

 

At this point I stay away from all spoilers, but don't consider the cast, location, or even style of game a spoiler. I just don't want to know who wins or elimination order or any of that. Those details ruin a season, not cast announcement. I mean, they announce the cast ahead of seasons anyways so what's a few extra months notice.

Yeah I'm the same way, no actual GAME details besides learning who the cast is before they actually announce it. I just ask now because I have recently learned that some people consider casting to be legit game ruining spoilers.....

Loved every second of it. She is the worst. Karma. Go home and keep spending the winnings you snagged of Hunter after he carried you to it on botox and cosmetic surgery.

 

Her stubbornness is always her downfall. As much as I like her, she's really is her own worst enemy lol. I wonder why we haven't seen Hunter??? I wonder if they've called him and he just turned them down or what.

 

Happy for Sam and Frank! It was cool seeing the cast go back to the 40 house/church for that challenge.

As much as I love Lee and wanted him to win god Devin is insufferable. Telling Dario his breath stinks when Bananas has been dragging in Devin for HIS breath for over a decade shows that when there's no Bananas in the game, Devin tries to fill his shoes.

Cutthroat Frank, I love to see it haha.

Also Ashley K is drop dead gorgeous jfc.

 

The worst thing to happen to The Challenge is Devin winning once. Now he walks around like he’s Jordan, CT and Bananas. Glad he’s going home.

 

He's always had an ego, but that win boosted it even MORE. Like....dude chill....you're a small pup playing with the big dogs and that's how it will always be.

 

I've actually grown to like Devin each season more and more. He didn't do much for me this season, but he is entertaining. Leroy, the gut who retired 3 years ago, yea the one who has come back again like 3 times since, should just stay retired. But if I had to be with "Killa Kam" everyday, I would jump at any chance to travel farrrr away. Lol

 

I liked Devin starting with Season 38 when he and Bananas made up but he was so annoying on 40 and this season. Guy plays a great political/social game but otherwise what exactly does he do well?

And yeah Kam is probably tough to live with haha.

 

Give Lee a break! WE have seen kam we know he surely needs to get away for a couple weeks and hopefully win money!

does Devin provide some entertainment)comedy? Sure, he can imo. But him insisting he needs to be in a rivalry with Bananas is so forced lol. And forced comes off as annoying to me. I really liked seeing them two work together, but then when 40 comes along Devin has to receive the rivalry and they're on two completely different levels.

 

Devin is funny in small doses as the whacky side kick but when he becomes the center of the show it just gets annoying. Devin forcing a rivalry with Bananas on Season Whatever was such an obvious attempt to make sure he would continue to get call backs.

 

Yeah that's the difference, with OGs like Bananas and Wes a rivalry feels authentic but with Devin it's all forced. He just doesn't have what it takes to be the main character but as you said, whacky side kick suits him JUST RIGHT.

Next week looks to be good, Frank getting back to his old self with Shane and then Veronica being a mob boss.

 

I loved this week's episode because there was finally some strategizing involved with the house vote. I hope we continue to get this level of plotting/deception/backstabbing the rest of the season.
