There’s a meet the challengers/preview episode on mtv tonight for the new season.

 

They do the same with Survivor so its probably a CBS thing

 

Episode 00 of 49 is up somewhere. I'm watching now, like seasons past it's basically a day 1 introduction/meetup of when the cast arrives to the show.
It's been a hot minute for sure with some of these people and some are from the overseas shows, so it's nice getting s quick recap of their journey.

And of course there's a challenge to get their sleeping supplies hahahahaha.

I know I've had my doubts as to if the cast will have any personality but they've got talent for sure.

Except Big T.

I feel if Horacio or Olivia don't win it all, my picks are Berna, Asaf, Callum, Emanuel, or Zara.

Dark horse picks are Nurys and Jay tho.

 

The Challenge Podcast showed up in Overcast earlier today and spoiled the winners for tonight

 

I'm REALLY hoping that wasn't it. I know one of (like 3 challenge podcasts) said they were gonna start interviewing people twice at a time so I'm really hoping this was just a random pairing as I didn't listen.

If so



Jfc, Banana's podcast spoiled just a couple episodes ago, what's with releasing before the episode even airs.

 

They release that podcast way too early. The guests also gave away the whole thing on the last season of the flagship.

 

Series Finale of The Challenge USA Season 2. I'm not mad at it lol. Could be worse.

 

Is anyone watching House of Villains on E!

Dunno where else to post it but Bananas is on it with a smew of other "villains" of reality TV and I'm loving it. Got some OG people like Omarosa, New York, Johnny Fairplay and others and it's goooood.

 

I figured Fessy didn’t win after he was on Bananas podcast last week. I actually picked up that he took the short cut before they said it.

Chris definitely earned that W, especially getting thrown in to eliminations all season. Cory once again a bridesmaid and never the bride.

 

Yeah I picked up Fessy taking the shortcut too haha. I was impressed (so was TJ!) when Fessy are all the food!

I think I heard Cory was the backup for someone z make sense cuz........yeah.

Also I wonder if Tori will ever win one again. And how much her finals win was in last due to Devin. Cuz this wasn't her game at all.

 

I was shocked Fessy ate all that food too. He claimed the reason why he quit eating during that one final was because he knew Kayce wasn’t going to be medically cleared and didn’t want to eat for no reason.

As for Tori, I think she’s a bit overrated. I think she’s like Cory where she’s good enough to make finals due to her politics but doesn’t have the overall skill set to win on her own.

 

If I remember correctly he wasn't SURE sure he just came up with that after to not look like a wimp haha. Cuz she still wanted to compete. I don't believe him!

Yeah I don't think I'd place her as low as Cory cuz that's cruel and unusual punishment tier hah but after seeing her performance this season I'm convinced her win was largely due to having a partner. Maybe I've been blinded by her ties to other challengers like Jordan and Devin and Aneesa that have kept her safe and like you said she does know how to politic.

Oh well, 39 next week, onto some new shenanigans.

 

I mean I think Fessy is definitely someone that makes excuses when he doesn’t win so you could be right.

Yeah I think Devin, especially with the puzzles, helped Tori big time. She’s had a lot of bad losses in eliminations too. Especially against Jenna when Jenna wanted to go home.

I have zero interest in Season 39 but of course will watch. Really hope it’s a good season.

 

Oh god that Jenna loss hahaha. Yeah that was something.

I was feeling negative about 39, still somewhat cautious as to maybe we'll have another USA 1 with a cast that just does not gel with each other, but episode 0 kinda elevated those fears. There's some personalities, and luckily we've seen these people so they aren't strangers.

I still don't know the vet aspect, if they're just 1:1 mercenaries like we've seen before or so they actually get screentime. I feel that'll be a factor.....I haven't waited years for Cara Maria to be back just to be a merc that pops in for an elimination or two!

 

I feel like the mercenaries are a set up for Season 40 in someway. I agree it’s a shame CT and Cara are coming back for 5 minutes of air time.

I hope Season 40 is like the Free Agents season.

 

Free Agents was so frickin good. Those early-mid 2010s were so good with Rivals and Exes, back when storylines took precedent over actual gameplay I feel.

 

Yup completely agree. That’s one of the things missing with the newer seasons.

 

I was listening to Banana's podcast last week when he had Johnny Fairplay on to talk about House of Villains and they were discussing how HoV feels like late 00's Challenges where, sure there's easier competitions but it's not like you need to train in the off-season and go to the gym daily like it is NOW in order to compete. Which is true I feel. It's definitely a different game but in the end it's still the Challenge and mostly the same familiar faces.

But that was one hell of an era.

 

Yeah I listened to that podcast. I kind of want both storylines/drama and competitions. It just all comes back to casting and how MTV doesn’t have a “farm system” anymore and they have to look elsewhere for talent.

 

It hurts my soul we don't have an actual Real World anymore. And Kailah is the last notable person we got from RW.

So yeah like I said elsewhere, while I'm somewhat skeptical of 39 due to no real vet influence....... SOME of these characters have personality so there's SOME potential for a decent season.

 

Fingers crossed.

 

Ok I fell asleep during that elimination.

My hope is slowly dwindling.......

 

Is this the same house, just decorated differently, from The Challenge USA? If so, interesting that they’d film in the same place so close together.
