Yeah this season is like night and day compared to Season 1. Without the vets you have no drama or any personality from the CBSers. Hope next season they have more than 6 vets. Maybe do Team Challenge Vets vs. Team Survivor vs. Team Big Brother and have the season play out similarly to Cutthroat.

This was the first episode where I’ve seen anyone mention even though Josh and Fessy are technically Big Brother players, they’re also kind of like the vets. I’m surprised the vets didn’t try to align with Big Brother cause I don’t see the Survivor players turning on each other and they’ll have the numbers to always put in a vet when it comes to that.

Bananas talked about it a few times on his Podcast. Basically both Big Brother and Survivor wanted the vets gone and they were teaming up to make that happen. They had the numbers so there was no way the vets could get any of them to flip. It wasn’t until Bananas went to the blue team and operation hat trick that the vets started to get Big Brother and Survivor to turn on themselves.

It's fine. I just wish there was a way to do The Real World again. Aside from Cara and Laurel all the best vets came from that world.

I think they've actually all been on The Challenge in one form or another. That obviously includes the international versions like The Challenge: UK and The Challenge: Australia, so there are definitely a handful of people I've never watched before either. Could be an interesting season. Could also be a dud, haha. We'll see.

Yeah they've been on SOME form of the challenge, which includes the various other versions of other counties versions.

I do wonder if the mercs just come out during eliminations like TJ has them out somewhere in the wilderness and only appear then or like they actually live in house and interact with this cast. Cuz only a handful of this cast is actually interesting. They need a vet presence in the house. Michelle and Jay ain't cutting it haha.

I really wish they would bring back Real World and Road Rules. With reality TV so popular I don’t understand why they don’t. It’s such an easy concept and I’m sure they can easily get 7 people in a house that will cause tons of drama. Then they have a ‘farm system’ to bring them right onto the Challenge like the old days instead of bringing in randoms from Love Island Germany for example.

I thought when Paramount+ started up, there was talks of a Road Rules reboot. I got excited cause I figured that meant the back seasons of the original run would be on the service. No word on either of those since though, so who knows?

I remember they tried to reboot The Real World on an online platform 3 or 4 years ago, but I dont think it did great. I personally always loved the real world, but had no interest in it.

Yeah I remember that rumor too. I still don’t understand why they don’t have Road Rules on Paramount + and are still missing seasons of Real World and The Challenge.

I think the last season was on Facebook. I had seen every season prior to that, but didn't watch that one. I doubt anyone else did either, haha.

I think it was on Facebook and I agree I had no interest in it either. I know the last few seasons on MTV didn’t do great that’s why they had gimmicks on them but why not try it out again.

I actually didn't mind the last few seasons of The Real World. That's where we got Ashley, Kailah, Cory, Tony, Jenna and Nicole from.

I think I remember hearing rumors of if as potential RR revival and wish something happened of it. Reality TV is in a different place and I thinks RR (and hell, do RW too you cowards) would fit into the new Paramount service.

Ok my eyes watered. God I hope we see him again. Fucking bananas podcast went up a day early and the title said it was featuring Wes so I was kinda sus already but damn. Now to actually listen to the podcast now.

My guys trifecta will always be Bananas, Wes, and depending on my mood it's either Derrick K or CT.

I made the mistake of listening to it Wednesday thinking they were going to tak about last week’s episode so yeah my Thursday viewing was ruined haha. I do hope Wes is back and I truly believe he will be when the time is right.

Just finished listening to it. Yeah I found it weird when I got the notification the day before the episode and didn't even read the description, just saw the title and was like huh. It was a good listen. Bananas and Wes rivalry turned bffs is one of my favorite things in the years I've been watching this. Hearing Bananas say Wes has done it for 19 years and himself 18 made me feel old as hell since I've been watching The Real World and Road Rules since 02 and made me realize that other than these two's storyline is one of the most memorable things that has happened, alongside the evolution of CT and reign of Cara Maria pre Paulie. I also listened to the quick podcast interview Wes did with Derrick (Challenge Mania) and he pointed out Mark Long, Darrell and Cyrus all being 50+ so Wes has a long ass time to reconsider and evaluate when it's best for him to return. I'll be honest, I thought him being on All Stars meant that was a sign he wouldn't be in the main show anymore so I was surprised to see him on this.

    Hahaha right?

Also something I've been noticing with this the editing..... I don't know if it's with the addition of the CBS cast that it's changed, cuz I don't remember this with the MTV edits (could be misremembering) but the edits lately have been pretty obvious in each episode who's going in by who's getting extended time on TV. For example, last episode and this episode they really focused on Josh's backstory, his childhood, his parents, etc. Same with Chanelle.....they focused on her survivor story and her convo with Cory. Last episode they paid attention to Michelle. I dunno, it's just something that on reflection it's like huh.....
