The Chainsmokers – “The One”

The verse sounds exactly like Paris but slower. Chorus is really good though, I dig it.

 

It's not very exciting. Weird choice of song to be track 1.

 

This is underwhelming. I like Paris but I don't like the singers voice enough to want a whole album of it. Hopefully that's not the case

These dudes are an insane guilty pleasure of mine, and I was a complete douchey frat bro in college, but at 25 I don't even talk like this...the fact a 31 year old is saying these things is just too much.

Got to the tip to tip part and I automatically thought of Stiffler from American Pie saying his "dick was 8 inches...around. Think about it".

 

Funny. I was just about to say that article wasn't quite as bad as I expected it to be and then they start talking about "p***y". Why oh why must we live in a culture where these guys are superstars?

 

Just fuck this band. Represents everything awful about the "EDM" scene, their fans, the braggadocio. My nemesis opened for them at Beta, and that dude is one basic prick.

 

I liked The Chainsmokers when I started getting into EDM and then realized they're pretty basic once I got deeper into that type of music.

I will say I've seen them twice, once at Sun City in El Paso last summer and again at Decadence in AZ for NYE. They do put on a killer set, probably better than anyone there. Besides Skrillex.

But these songs just sound wayyyyy too similar to me. They're better at live sets, by far. Just my opinion.

 

Right? The world sucks. The whole EDM scene is fake as shit, and the love felt at the Underoath/BMTH show last night only reinforced how vital our punk and "core" scene is. Sorry, I can't see "Chainsmokers" without ranting like a madman.

I love this artist. Something Just Like This and Paris are two fantastic songs. Can't wait for this album
