I really liked this. Definitely a fun surprise, and I'm glad it's out on all platforms now. I've got to go see them for sure, since they're going to be here on a night, and I'm having a good time with the knowledge that I am seeing them, and this is making me more excited. (this post isn't edited at all)
Is it though? The rarity of seeing Gaslight is the only reason I'm even questioning it. I mean yes seeing Beyonce & Jay Z together I guess is more rare, but each of them individually will definitely be back. That being said, I do agree this will be way better.
They've been on hiatus for years and only have a handful of US dates this year with no definite plans to continue any touring after that.
The albums ranges from decent to good, then there’s Apeshit which feels it could be the Ni***s In Paris of Summer 2018
decent to good is about right. i like the good tracks a lot, i just kinda wish there were more to this
I think the pitchfork review is spot on that it doesn't feel like they're pretending to be happy on this album, they just genuinely sound happy to be making music together. that's what sells this for me even if it's easy to wish for more musically or lyrically, that's totally fair too. SALUD! should have been the closing track tho, they messed up on that
