So I'm at the dealership for transmission issues with my Nissan. They do the diagnostic and when I get back to pick up my car, they say it's dirty transmission fluid like I suspected. I was kinda like "so...that's it? Nothing else wrong?" And they said no, they were just going to run my car through the wash and send me on my way. So I call my dad in the meantime to let him know since we're planning on changing the fluid ourselves. The guy who was helping me definitely walked by and might've overheard, and when I go back in to ask for my car, he says they found another issue with my transmission which they haven't told me yet but I'm sure they're going to say it's the valve. I really think it's hilarious that they're trying to tell me that they found this issue while running my car through the car wash?? Like what the fuck? Is it typical for dealerships to be this shady?
If there's another Nissan dealership you can take it to nearby, I would go there and tell them exactly what happened. If the car is under warranty, hence why it's being taken to a dealership, I would consider contacting Nissan USA.
I'm pretty confident it's just the fluid since the issue only came up when I was driving up a steep hill in 100 degree weather. The car wouldn't go over 60mph at the time, but I've gotten it up to 80 since and I've had no problem thereafter so I think the transmission fluid just got too hot since I'd been driving for 3 hours (in Arizona).
I needed to post in here for the first time because I have had the same car for 10 years but tomorrow am getting a brand spankin' new white Mazda 3! I am so excited. My old 2004 escape has been so good to me, I will be sad to see her go, I learned how to drive in that car. RIP old friend.
I went in to the dealership today to square away some insurance things etc and tomorrow was the official day because my Mom has to sign away my current car.. and they're trying to tempt me with a white '17 Jetta. I test drove it and holy hell does it accelerate like butter. Now I am so torn, I like different things about the Jetta and Mazda! I hate decisions.
Get a gti over the jetta! I'd probably just go for the mazda 3 though, I almost got one. Make sure you get the 184 hp engine though.
I love the exterior of the mazda, but the interior of the Jetta is designed so much nicer, which is why I'm so torn. But I do think I'll do the Mazda since it's what I originally wanted! I dunno what the engine is.
Find out. Maybe they had you test drive the 155 hp engine if the jetta feels that much faster. I would be sure to test drive the 184 hp model before purchasing.
I have a weathertech sun visor and it's great. Can't comment on their mats, though. I noticed the paint on my roof has started to peel. My baby is starting to look her age.
I don't have weathertech floor mats, but I do have the winter/rubber mats for my car and they are great.
My wife had a 2012 Mazda 3...then a 14 Jeep Patriot. Neither of us can wait to get back into a Mazda 3. I'm pushing her for the hatchback though. I just picked up a '16 Hyunda Tucson...pretty happy with it.
A family friend is selling a 2015 Kia Soul for $8k. Only 40k miles on it. It's a killer deal but I'm still on the fence because I don't have the money right now. I'd have to take out a loan or something.
My car need a battery, oil change, muffler, and shocks. At this point I wanna just say fuck it and get a newer car myself but then I remember I don't have new car money lmao.
They bought it for their kid who lives on campus now so I guess he doesn't need it. Sounds like a regretful decision to me!
