Great album

I understand what @T E A L is saying for sure but I do think the little parts work well as accents more than anything and I'm okay with them not being fleshed out, but I understand the line of thought

dude doing the guest vox on Tears on Lambo Leather sounds like he needs an exorcism and it rocks

 

TW: the band we try not to talk about. It really feels worth noting how much of this hits the way Brand New does. Obviously not in the heavy way, but any time they slow things down, and ESPECIALLY when things get a little more space to breathe and the guitar distortion comes off, it sounds extremely BN, but in a very good way.

 

"Full Moon Guidance" has me circling and stomping around like I'm gonna open up a pit at this bus stop goddamn.

 

As it turns out, "mathcore band where the primary songwriter is a diehard Fall Out Boy fan" is one of my favorite things.

 

I know this band is already revered for how out there they can be, but it’s crazy how Lambo Leather and Lemon are from the same band, and even crazier that they’re off the same album, and even crazier that they’re side by side in the track listing. This band is so sick.

 

Man this absolutely fucks. This and Arms length all day

 

This album knocked my socks off

 

gonna make this album my entire personality for the next few months god damn they killed it on every single track

 

This one hit for me like Die on Mars did the first time. I enjoyed Celebrity Therapist and God Smiles Upon but I never really went back much like I did with DoM. I can see myself coming back to this one a lot.

The more I listen to this it’s like gen z every time I die and I’m totally on board for it

 

What I respect the most about this is just how fucking challenging it is. Like yeah celebrity therapist wasn’t an “easy” listen but when they did big shifts in sound on a track it was a shift into something palatable for the most part. It’s funny I think you could say the four singles are the four easiest songs to digest. Most everything else dares you to get comfortable before pulling the rug out and devolving into madness. Again, I get that it isn’t everyone’s thing. I even think they stumble a bit here (the transition into the auto tuned “I love you”s on the closing track is, quite frankly, awful) but at least they’re doing whatever the fuck they want to do with it. and when they hit that mark like on douchebag safari opening with some weird schmaltzy lounge music before clobbering you over the head with the best metalcore bits of the album only to spiral into some fucked up electro noise type shit by the end it is truly something to behold.

 

Also I’ve been saying it for a while but I think it’s apparent now more than ever their biggest kindred spirit in the mathcore scene is the number twelve looks like you

 

I love the Pagan Poetry bit haha. Otherwise I agree.
