I snagged one of the variants left yesterday because I think they were down to under 50 of the last two that hadn’t sold out

So yeah apparently the "blue/beige" variant is the "Full Moon Memory" one after all

Bjork interpolation on the closer is crazy

It might be me over-listening but is it actually a double reference? The way their interpolation SLAMS on each "you" in culminating with that climactic slam that rings out reminds me very much of the climax(es) of Tool's "third eye"

It's a beauty and the way it portrays an image instead of just colors thrown together makes it stand out

After my second listen….this is a modern day classic of the genre imo. Just such a great mix of chaos and beauty

First album this year to really wow me. The chaos is beautiful and really all feels grounded with great sequencing of the more melodic songs sprinkled in

I've listened to most of the 2025 releases people talk about on here, many of them a few times, and none of them have shit on this.

  15. On my first listen and their unpredictability makes it quite fun so far. They blend the chaotic and melodic parts in a way that takes me back to blasting bands like Scarlet and Exotic Animal Petting Zoo in my teens. The cleans are reminiscent of Dillinger Escape Plan at times as well.

scarlet is an amazing shout, them and spitfire put out some of the best and most overlooked mathcore of the 00s. both cult classic and cult fiction are incredible

finally reading the lyrics to this and I've been hearing the line on Idiot Temptation Force as "She said it sounds like fucking asphalt" this whole time. no idea what that would mean in this context but it sounded cool so my brain went with it lol

Has anyone linked the AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit the band did? All members participated. It was a super fun read. My favorite song on the album so far, "Distracted by the Mona Lisa", was apparently inspired by Finch, so that's a band I need to check out now :) I know some of yall in this thread got FOB vibes from that song too. It's also cool to learn about their writing process which I didn't know a lot about. It was probably the coolest learning about how they write the violin parts from Amber!

yeah the Amber responses were the most interesting to me mainly because it addresses my "I kinda wish the violin parts were more active" complaint - I always thought it was weird that they have a full-time vioinist but the parts are consistently tucked pretty far back in the mix and more of an occasional ornament than a major component. I think the new album incorporates her the most thoughtfully so far and I appreciated learning how she sees her position within the overall sound.

Yes agree! And as a nonmusician and someone who is easily distracted, I had to really focus to hear the violin parts. In some of my favorite songs, it takes me years to notice new elements, so I really appreciate her responses

It sounds like early The Used or something to me. Would get a ton of plays on Kerrang! TV or something in like 2010.

Absolutely love that song but need to spend more time with the rest of this record.

the part in full moon guidance where he says “this is what i do” sounds like it was plucked off worship & tribute. this is so fucking good.
