First foray into this band and this album is ridiculously good. Poppier elements give me serious Fall Out Boy vibes.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Wouldn't be the Daoboys without a lyric like "You should know by now that it's not cool to wear Metalcore t-shirts around your family. It doesn't make you interesting at all."

I hope this almost perfect album vaults them to a new level of deserved popularity to go with the rabid cult following. anytime I think the harshness+sassiness of the vox might be a barrier to broader appeal I remember what knocked loose sound like.

I second/third the motion that his cleans are pretty damn good at this point.

Lemon is so catchy, once it starts I don’t want to listen to anything else

That electropop break in the middle sends me into a trance every time. Probably one of the catchiest things in their discog (outside of the entirety of Lemon). It’s such a short moment but incredible

legit might be my new “what’s your favorite 3 song run?” social media trend answer. the range of those tracks alone is unlike anything i’ve ever heard

Clearly not similar in the wide ranging influences (and coincidental that they just toured together) but this step up and transition to poppier, yet heavier at the same time, most closely reminds me of the jump that SeeYouSpaceCowboy in Coup de Grace

We reach for the longest shadow

It keeps reminding me of some sound effect in The Weeknd's House of Balloons / Glass Table Girls. Need to go and listen to concrete again.
The singer is an unabashedly huge Fall Out Boy fan, even has a FOB podcast, so he probably takes this as a huge compliment, haha.

I love that this record feels like a 2025 album through a 2006-2008 filter. There's some guitar leads and drum parts in Schizophrenia Legacy that sound like what DGD were doing on their first two albums. The soundclips throughout the whole album give it that feel as well.

it does feel like a lost album from the 2000s classic scene period despite being loaded with frontierer and car bomb influence lol. its really cool. took a while to sink my teeth into but i havent been able to get enough of it
