Im a much bigger fan of this season than yall in here HOWEVER that twist at the end of this week was weak as hell. Overdone and just like, who cares?
maybe it is a little heavy handed and cliche as a "twist" but as something i suspected a while ago it was cool to see the way it played out with Kessler responding to Becca and have that being how Butcher figures it out, it's an interesting take on the classic devil and angel on your shoulders trope
My favorite part of this season is A-Train going for redemption. Really want to see that storyline play out. I'm over all the shock value garbage. Recent episode was just dumb and uncalled for.
Yeah the best part of this last episode was A-Train getting to see what it felt like to be appreciated for being a real hero for once
and then this week with the shapeshifter sex. i really wanna like this season but it's making it so damn difficult
this episode was better than the last, but first they have a whole ep about Hughie getting raped being played for awful laughs, now they have a shapeshifter tricking him into thinking he’s having sex with Annie? Why would the shapeshifter even do that if all they cared about was getting access to the Boys’s stuff? What is with the writers relentlessly punishing Hughie to no end this whole season? Biggest death flags for the finale imo: A-Train, Firecracker, Pseudo-Noir, Sage, MM, Neuman
just the way it cut so suddenly from them having sex to him sleeping made me think it was in his head. Plus Annie not really acting herself which would make sense if it wasn't actually her.
If A Train doesn't make it past this season I'll be sad. His redemption arch has been the best story of season 4. But I could see him sacrificing himself for MM or someone else on the team. Still could care less about any other story line going this season. The French Frenchie stuff with Komiko has been so bad. Like the couldn't come up with anything better? Even Homelander is all over the place. 2 episodes ago he was into the dad/Ryan thing. This week he could care less in regards to that voicemail he left. Sage is by far the worst character. Hope she isn't in season 5
Yeah the Frenchie/Kimiko stuff is so uninteresting just by virtue of the fact that it’s completely disconnected from the rest of the story. Everyone else has some way in which their individual plot is interconnected to the broader arc of the season, but not them Also Neuman is going to absolutely flip shit when she learns the crew kidnapped her boyfriend to make him create a weapon against her
I'm still mad that Frenchie and Kimiko are clearly never going to get together, even though I do understand why
Season finale wasn't bad but I feel like the season as a whole didn't need to do some of the more "edgy" things it did to get us here.
Yeah there’s elements i really liked about the finale. But it’s still a big fall off in quality from the first two seasons. Idk, I really feel like early seasons had more interesting politics. Maybe I’m just misremembering, but didn’t it feel like Homelander used to be a stand-in for the military and police state, and how omnipresent those things are in American life? And that Vought was about corporate complicity in them? There were definitely overtones about MAGA in it, but i feel like over time the show has just morphed into being about Trump in a way that I think is usually pretty lazy.
