I can’t agree with this when s2 revolved around a nazi character named Stormfront. This is what the show has basically always been, it’s never even tried to be subtle or even that clever about it
Valid point, but I just can't shake the feeling it's way more in your face and it feels cheap to me? Maybe subtle was the wrong word, but with Firecracker it's like "hey heres MTG"? Idk, just how its sitting with me. I'm enjoying it for sure but it feels like a decent drop from S1-3
If you check that Twitter, there’s also announcements for each project. There’s too many for me to share in here.
Enjoyed latest episode. Honestly, I feel like this season has been catching a lot of hate online and really hasn't been bad. Not the best season, could possibly be the worst????, but still great fun to watch and story progression.
In the show it was using consumer data and ai to create an on screen product placement that is tailored specifically to the viewer's demographics. If you're white then the character is holding bottle of whiskey, if you're black then the character is holding a bottle cognac for the example.
Jeeze that's wild. I guess that's no different from seeing region-tailored ads on cable though. Like, I see ads for a Toyota dealership in NH instead of Colorado or some shit But yeah also silly.
Dude you have no idea how much the data being collected on you in the cloud is being used to target advertising to you. It is truly crazy.
Like did you know that apps on your phone sell your location data to market research firms to say for example figure out the best places to put billboards or the best location to put retail chain store? "Foot traffic analysis" they call it, using the information from your phone's gps. That is just one example
Oh yeah for sure. My phone also clearly listens to me despite claims that Google Assistant only listens when it's triggered. There have been multiple times I've been talking about something with my fiance, I pull up my phone to search something about it and it's like the first suggested search query
no but liek why dommy mommy ashley gotta be so fuckin hot --i mean, uh, good episode, right guys? really like the writing and... stuff...
Didn't love this most recent episode. Couple funny moments, but the Hughie/Tek Knight stuff kinda soured my feelings on the episode as a whole (especially after reading Kripke say they wrote it to be a joke scene)
That plotline and two(?) eps ago where Homelander’s entire plot was just torturing the scientists who raised him — both genuinely felt like the writers were simply going for shock value + struggling to fill the whole episode. For both of them, the entire point could have been made in a single scene. Instead they got dragged out endlessly to no real end
Yeah, it was stupid because who the fuck ever cared about that character to begin with. Plus, a hugely played out storyline. This show needs to end so badly. I’m hoping a finish line in sight means next season is back to seasons 1-2 quality.
I’ve definitely enjoyed this season more than most but I totally get why people are disappointed. The Joe storyline and Homelander’s massacre in the lab are filler that could have easily cut down an episode or two.
