I think to say it's god awful is probably not fair. You can not like the style sure, but it's clearly all intentional to look the way it does. That was my fear for the show, and why i hesitated to watch it for a while and while I do think some moments have been purely for shock, most of what happens is very story and character based, and I think it handles it well. It's definitely not the 'edge lord' show I expected, way more balanced.
I loved this episode. Really gave us a foundation for the back half while also progressing the story.
I get that their grudge against Homelander is way more personal, but even in the ideal version of this plan, it would still just ultimately be replacing Homelander with Soldier Boy, no? They’d be no closer to taking down the Supes in general
"People love what I have to say. They believe in it. They just don't like the word Nazi, that's all."
Honestly though.. how oblivious does someone have to be to get 2.5 seasons into this without realizing what's going on lol
so I'm less interested in the specifics of the event, but more so in how it's written into the story. Doesn't seem like a great time for everyone to go have an orgy together, and some of them may be uhh less than consensual participants? Regarding that, the cast.crew seem to be raving that it's their favorite episode, almost like it's a fun one, but based on the above, I'm expecting it to be pretty dark at times. So yeah, non comic book reader definitely wondering how this event will be seamlessly integrated into this point of the plot. It's like all doom and gloom and then 'we interrupt this for a special orgy event'
Could be wrong cause I haven't looked at the comics in years, but I'm pretty sure in the comics it was just a thing that the Supes were doing and The Boys were only tangentially related. Wouldn't be surprised if it's similar here
Best episode of the season. Crazy that that fight was the culmination of the entire show so far. Homelander forever shook
Binged this show over the past week and am all caught up. The last two episodes have been incredible.
man i loved it. so wild there are only two episodes left, we're just getting started with soldier boy
I wish so badly that Jensen got finished with supernatural sooner. He's such a damn delight. Wish he could get a proper Batman role, not just animated.
wasn’t that the initial intent for smallville but weird rights and him getting supernatural stopped it?
Loved this episode, and love that Starlight Annie is being used as the moral compass for the show. Also really enjoying Kimiko's arc, Karen is killing it.
