it's pretty hard sci-fi but it was an easy read, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

His other novel, The Wandering Earth, is out on Chinese cinema too.

The names are a little tough currently, but thankful for the breakdown in the beginning.

I listened to the three body problem and it was nothing like what I was expecting

Yeah, it was pretty hard to handle but you kinda get used to it by the end.

I thought the Three Body Problem was good and sets the stage well, but The Dark Forest is when things get really good. I might be alone on this though. Regardless def give the whole trilogy a shot instead of judging on the first book

Three Body Problem sounds like an Agatha Christie novel so I was interested, not even close

This book is so damn good, you guys. I’ve been slowly moving through it because life’s got me busy, but it’s allowing me to sit and enjoy the prose more. The narration is poetic and dreamy without being challenging and there are some really relatable passages about family, aging, and the loss of childhood. I highly recommend it to all Haruki Murakami and other surreal/magical realism fans.

Do y’all use your local library or do you buy most of your books?

Both, dependent on whether I want to keep the book, and I’m considering starting a free trial of Audible.

Audible is probably my main in terms of volume but I also buy books to read because there’s no way my library has them

Some of the libraries by me have bookstores with super cheap books, so it's a combo of both for me. Hard to pass up books that are like $1.50 at the most.

I pretty much only use audible. I will sometimes buy a book if I'm going on vacation to have something to read.

Since I got a kindle this past Christmas I now usually have multiple books going at once. At the beginning of the year I had two books and two audiobooks going at once. I choose two totally different flavor things. Like right now I'm reading Prisoner of Azkaban and Before The Storm, a heavy history of Barry Goldwater and the rise of conservatism in the 1960s.

If you have a good library you can get anything you want physically and digitally.

    I very rarely buy anything

I’m currently reading Lord of the Rings Two Towers, but will have to wait a few weeks to rent Return of the King from our local library. Which I have on hold.

    I do not exist.

Library for most fiction. Kindle for old books (ie. out of copyright so usually free). Purchase one or two non-fiction books a year. Occasionally buy books from a charity shop. Occasionally buy a Kindle book when on offer. Borrow friend's books where possible!
