I ordered that, Mongrels and Mapping the Interior, will see what I think! it's a shame all his 2000s stuff seems to be out of print though, I'd love a repress of some of those
I'm hearing that Paul Tremblay's Horror Movie is somehow connected to the Indian Lake trilogy so I guess I'm grabbing that too lol. I've had Head Full of Ghosts on my shelf for ages but never got around to reading it
It took me over a month but I just finished Lonesome Dove. Wow. It’s a book I’ll probably think about a lot.
I just got hired as a 7th/8th grade ELA/Social Studies teacher in a private school. I was talking to the principal today and she casually told me to start thinking about my booklist for the year and now I'm overwhelmed thinking about all of the books I loved at that age, haha.
Finished As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner last night. 8.5/10. Incredibly dramatic and intense book for 250 pages. Highly recommend
I did not expect Demon Copperhead to have such a stranglehold on me. It broke my heart so many times.
I just started Trust by Hernan Diaz. I’m trying to pick out some stuff from the NYT list that looked interesting. I can tell this one is going to be unique.
I need to reread this. I remember starting it on my Kindle on vacation in Thailand in 2017 and I don’t remember exactly why but just before we flew home it was announced certain electronics (including Kindles) weren’t allowed on flights except in checked luggage so hours before we went to the airport I stopped in a random bookstore and actually managed to find a physical copy of it. But anyway, really amazing and disturbing book.
I’m reading Allison Rumfitt’s Tell Me I’m Worthless and the anger of it is palpable. Her writing is great and some of it is definitely scarier than I anticipated.
Just finished Wise Blood. What an odd little book haha. I really liked it. Gonna do the Thalia trilogy next, my first McMurtry
That's been on my shelf for a while. Been waiting for the right time to pick it up. Maybe that'll be my next one.
