A Head Full of Ghosts was always that book on my TBR for years I’d eventually get around to.

Well picked it up yesterday and finished today. This was great. The ending in particular was so depressing and I loved every second of that.

I love this book. My favourite from Tremblay. Just feels like such a good story and the way the characters are rounded off and developed is amazing.

Once you are used to SGJ’s writing style, it’s a good book! Looking forward to reading the sequel this winter and then the eventual third book of the series out next year.

I loved My Heart is a Chainsaw, but the sequel kind of fell flat for me. It seemed like there is a different POV in every chapter and there were honestly only 1 or 2 that i cared about. Hopefully the third book is more focused and wraps up the story in a satisfying way.

Enjoyed Nightbitch. The premise gets a bit stretched thin, but it never felt frustratingly long, and the book was funnier and more gruesome than I expected.

Started reading Joy Williams’ The Changeling. I’ve never read anything by her, but saw in an interview with Joe D’Agostino that The Changeling was a huge influence on Empty Country, and I’m really enjoying her witting so far.

  12. I just started Fourth Wing. I need to see what the hype is about.

oh god that's like 50% of the book side of Instagram/TikTok. Haven't read it, but it sounds like garbage, speaking as an pretentious elitist fantasy fan

  14. I just can’t scroll through social media or walk into B&N without seeing something about it so I just have to see for myself.

I’m about halfway through it. It’s taken me a couple of months to get that far. I’m not the biggest fantasy reader, or even fiction for that matter. It’s entertaining enough when I do start reading but it doesn’t call out to me to pick it up everyday. The vibe is kinda like if Game of Thrones and Hunger Games had a baby.

  16. I’ll read any fantasy honestly so I’m going into it without reservations or concerns. If I enjoy it, I enjoy it. If not, whatever. I’ve just been on a straight horror/thriller kick so I’m trying to switch gears a little.

I’ve also never read anything Brandon Sanderson and I get a lot of shit for that.

I picked up Fourth Wing in an Audible sale recently. I think it’s more in that romantasy craze side of the genre started by SJM. But like you, the hype is big enough I’m curious. I’ll probably read it early next year after I finish my current series.

All that being said, MISTBORN!!!! Etc.

Well deserved! My favorite of the year, and one of my favorite authors. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it. Ohio is also phenomenal.

finished My Heart is a Chainsaw. wouldn't quite put it on the level of Only Good Indians, there were a few issues for sure. leaving till the very end a killer reveal you can guess within the first 100 pages was a choice I wasn't huge on and the multiple red herrings/fakeouts before that were a little much, I straight up lost track of who was killing who at a certain point. still a big fan of the protagonist and SGJ's style of writing, both super unique and extremely engaging. onto Don't Fear the Reaper

  22. I’ll be honest I’ve started and stopped it several times on audiobook. I love SGJ but it hasn’t clicked with me yet. I may leave it for a bit and return back at a later time.
