It sucks that Grogu came back so quickly as I would have greatly enjoyed a more stretched out reunion between him and Mando.

It just feels the whole end of Season 2 was wasted.

Yea. Really wish they would showed a little restraint and kept them apart for at least part of season 3. Grogu is just too much of a money maker, I guess.

Also, pretty sure I heard the Wilhelm scream. Which I don’t think has been used very much in the Disney era yet. I remember them saying there was a new one they were using but didn’t confirm which scream it was.

This sucks. Like it’s obvious now the entire point of this show was just to have this big fight and any actual story or character be damned, but even the big fight was lame. Hopefully Lucasfilm doesn’t let Robert Rodriguez anywhere near Star Wars again and they actually make sure they have a good story to tell rather than just a bunch of wish fulfillment ideas.

    Things have changed.

I'm so relieved this is over. Just so many weird decisions throughout the entire thing and such little heart. Big miss by Filoni and Favreau.

    I'm excited for Kenobi though.

Finished the season. Pretty lame. All filler with no real new emotional connection. Honestly tho, i am going to approach all these star wars and marvel shows with the understanding that they may just not be for me. Theyre too connected, with too much prior knowledge of the universes expected. If disney + spends on all their money on nothing but those new franchises, itll probably be a streaming service i dont mind dropping. Ill give the next show of each a try before deciding.

Yeah still wasn’t as bad as TRoS. Wasn’t as bad as everyone is making it out to be. But not good either. Just had no direction whatsoever. They should have just continued with Boba what they did in “The Tragedy”. Instead he goes through all that and then decides he doesn’t want it?

So I think as a whole the season/series is a miss.
But I truly did enjoy those last three episodes (probably because they felt like Mando episodes).

Watched the whole thing today because I prefer binging to watching weekly so sorry if some of this has already been discussed a lot in here

    - The flashback storyline was infinitely more interesting than the present day storyline, even though it really wasn't needed; we didn't need Boba Fett's mysticism totally shit on like this, it's way cooler to imagine him escaping from the Sarlacc Pit than actually seeing it. Meanwhile, in the present day storyline he just felt entirely out of character. Why did he want to be a crime lord on Tatooine so bad? And since when is Boba Fett hesitant to kill people? Isn't killing people like his whole thing? And why did he take his helmet off so fucking much? I get that they were probably trying to show that his time in the Sarlacc changed him but that didn't come across very well. Also doesn't really help that I unfortunately just don't think Morrison is a very good actor. I was almost laughing at the amount that he showed his teeth in weird ways during action scenes lol. I can't see myself rewatching the first four episodes of this show ever again unless I'm doing a full Star Wars watchthrough

    - However, like presumably everyone else, 5 and 6 had me in the palm of their hands. It may have made no fucking sense at all to put these episodes into the middle of a Boba Fett show when they clearly should have been the first two episodes of Mando S3 but at least they were great and kept my interest the entire time unlike the rest of the show. That new planet/ship thing from E5 was super cool looking, and it still excites me seeing the Dark Saber in live action. It is absolutely fucking insane how realistic Luke looks and sounds, I know there are probably deeper ethical real-world repercussions to this kind of technology getting so good but it was making me so nostalgic to get new scenes with "classic" Luke. Awesome seeing Ahsoka and Luke interact too, even if it was pretty casual

    - Awesome to see Olyphant's character again and that they're going to bring him back, I was worried that they killed him off and wasted that character. Speaking of which... did they seriously bring back Cad Bane, make him look fucking amazing in live action, give him an incredible debut scene and then kill him off in that extremely unsatisfying way? I was so excited when he showed up because I thought he was going to become a presence across all of these new shows like he was on Clone Wars and Rebels, but if that's really it then what a fucking waste. I actually didn't really like the last episode very much, I feel like that action scene could have been shortened by like 20 minutes. Those "punk" kids were not good characters

    - Agree that all of this development for Mando and Grogu should have happened in their own show, I was happy to see them reunite but I also agree doing it this soon and not even in their own series makes the amazing ending of S2 severely less impactful. If you go straight from the end of that season to the start of the next one without seeing this it will be like it didn't even happen

I did not think I would type this much about this show lol. Basically, it was boring and unnecessary until it became a secret mini-season of The Mandalorian, and while I immensely enjoyed those episodes, it would have been way better if they just put those into the next season of that show and just go for ten episodes instead of eight. Could even still have Mando in the last episode of this show but just have him show up instead of giving him the whole two episodes to get there

It was cool to see Thundercat though

Grogu taking a nap with the rancor was cute. And him wanting Mando to do a turbo boost one more time at the end of the episode made me laugh because my kids like it when i do the same thing in the car

This article really articulates what I've been complaining about with this show from the beginning but HOPED that they would correct in the end....which they of course did not.

I was waiting for a good answer to that question as well and basically got nothing. Boba has 0 emotional connection to like any of those people who live there. He's stated that his Tusken family (who are now dead) were the original inhabitants of Tattooine and that the Pykes were interlopers.... so....how does he feel about the rest of the non-Tusken inhabitants? We have no idea yet they are apparently his people. The article also hits on the problem with those flashbacks and how they needed to be paid off in order to give the current story some meaning and weight, but they never really did that so it was basically just a four episode detour that could have been told chronologically.

I also think I've posted in this thread the exact thing they point out at the beginning of the article. They created Din to give him all of the cool Boba Fett style (almost typed "Fett-ish") stories they always wanted to explore but couldn't because of Boba's backstory. To then go back and retry it with Boba in an attempt to recreate the magic just doesn't work.

I know it's been said a million times at this point but I’ve honestly never watched a piece of media and been left so confused as to why it exists.

I had no idea who Cad Bane was prior to this so his inclusion for me was wildly pointless. And speaking of pointless, why was Luke Skywalker a part of this at all? I’m not even sure I understand or remember at what point Krrsantan decided to team up with Boba Fett.

And what did Boba even accomplish? I get that the Tuskens taught him about the benefits of community and that's seems to be his ultimate goal now, but there was just no payoff to that, no emotional connection to or development of any of the characters he was supposed to be finding this with. The closest it came was the Sanctuary and then they just blew it and presumably everyone in it up, without even really showing anyone grieving. Why not start the episode with a memorial for those who died there to give some emotional weight to what they're fighting for the rest of the episode?

I did really enjoy Boba finishing off Cad Bane with the Tuscan raider move, that was a nice little payoff. And him riding the rancor was cool and all. But then the rancor getting loose after they finish the battle.. I mean really it just felt like they were like ahh this should really be an hour long episode what else could we do?

But I guess it was worth it just to watch Grogu jump up to give Mando a hug.
