Lol, if true this just makes his appearance in the show worse. I’ve tried to get in to clone wars multiple times, but I think it sucks. I know people swear by it though.
The first half of season 1 of clone wars is def rough but some of the best star wars is in clone wars
I was a Clone Wars skeptic for a long time, but once you're through the entire series it's so worth it. There are totally some duds in there, quite a few actually, but there is also some of the best things in all of Star Wars for sure.
This is why I asked a bit ago in this thread whether or not we are supposed to consider that (deleted) scene canon. The story makes more sense if that's the case, but I would imagine they'll have to explain this within The Book of Boba Fett since most casual fans wouldn't know the deal surrounding a deleted scene from a different series.
I mean, it’s kinda just extra. Even without knowing it a casual would know we’re in a land where bounty hunters are hired to deal with problems. We’ve already seen it once within the context of the show.
Cad Bane toothpick theory- he was actually filing his teeth throughout the clone wars and his pointed teeth here is the final product so he no longer needs those toothpicks.
I feel like I am enjoying this show about as much as The Mandalorian. Ming Na Wen and Temuera Morrison are both great. The shift in focus to Mando and then Grogu were a weird choice but every ep has been fun
Mandalorian is way better. Although towards the end of season 2 I was tiring of the Mando meets a new character for a spin off, Grogu reacts to things, Grogu is in trouble, Mando saves Grogu, Grogu reacts more in each episode. The end of season 2 was just what the show needed, separating Mando and Grogu to start separate paths. So much of their next part of the story being in BOBF was unexpected. It does seem like their reunion is far more likely to happen sooner than later. Which is not what I expected or desired. But we shall just see what happens in the BOBF finale and Mando s3.
It wouldn’t shock me if Grogu is absent in the finale. It seems like it should be focused on the war on Tatooine at this point. but I don’t think anyone expected the last two episodes to go down the way they did, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we do see him.
Surely there's a 0% chance they would do a cliffhanger where Grogu needs to make a decision (and add the bubble on Mando's new ship) if they had no intention of paying it off in this series.
Finally watched last week's episode last night. Still don't love this show overall, even with Mando and Grogu. I mean did we really need another 5 minute sequence of a young jedi being trained. They just don't have enough story to tell it seems. I agree with the sentiment that this could've been formatted better as a mini series/special event. But I am excited for the last episode with the hope that the payoff will at least be worth it. Also there would be no point at all for Grogu's inclusion on this show if he isn't in the last episode. It would just be bad straight up bad storytelling. Seems pretty clear he'll choose Mando, as he should.
Grogu is going to choose the Mandalorians, join Din and Boba on Tatooine, and single-handedly take down the Pyke syndicate.
Either Luke brings Grogu to Tatooine in the final scene to set up Mando season 3, or they have Luke show up in his X-wing, with Grogu, and he helps during the final battle to give fans an extra "whoa" moment. They seem to have loved giving those the past couple episodes, so I imagine we'll have plenty in this episode. One being Boba riding the Rancor.
So.... that was bad. Other than Rise of Skywalker, and excluding the two Mando episodes, this may be my least favorite piece of Star Wars media. And there was absolutely no reason to include any of the Mando stuff in this series. It absolutely should have taken place in season 3 of his show.
This entire show felt like it happened because “Boba is cool” instead of the writers actually having a fascinating idea for the character.
He’s not even cool that’s the best part!! He’s historically done absolutely nothing of value except be a Space UPS driver and deliver a frozen guy to a slug.
Was definitely a mixed bag. Some cool visual moments throughout but it was completely hollow, all over the place tonally and a totally underwhelming conclusion to say the least... Basically just a long ass shootout with no real story elements to speak of, no actual tension, Reminds me of some of the MCU shows the way it lacks a satisfying antagonist. Bane just slowly walking around town looking mean and showing up in two scenes just to be killed in a 'blink and miss it' fight doesn't count. Can't believe they killed him off like that. Totally unearned and rushed ending for him. I don't see this getting a season 2. No real hints of a bigger bad out there for Boba. No Crimson Dawn or Black Sun controlling things from the shadows. I don't really get what the Hutt twins were so afraid of. The Pykes were really not that big a deal outside of the Scorp droids (Which felt cheap and tacked on btw. why not have the main villain have some recognizable bounty hunters fighting against Boba instead?). Overall majorly missed opportunity to do a good Boba story. I feel bad for Temuera, the dude deserves way better. Hopefully Boba gets some time to shine in Mando S3 or give Temuera a chance to play some clones in live action. Would love to see him show up in Kenobi as Rex or something.
