I found myself a little distracted by Cad’s mouth but I’m never gonna say a negative word about a Star Wars spaghetti western lol
That episode, episode 6, it made me feel things and cry. My god. I think that's ultimately the problem with Boba Fett's show - i don't really care what happens - I want to know more of the Mandalorian's story, and I want to know more of Grogu's story (which we got bountifully in episodes 5 and 6). The first 4 episodes of BoBF feel like satisfying adaptations of some of the classic 90's books I personally grew up on, especially Boba escaping the Sarlacc, and various other bounty hunter interactions, bringing back the Rancor, etc. It felt very fan service-y in a good way for fans of the original expanded universe, that beautiful era of the 1990's before the 1997 re-release of the OT. So many awesome stories in both comics and books. I am excited they've been doing a good job at introducing major characters from the comics too in the BoBF, but man, after 2 seasons of Mando, I just want only Mando stories. THAT feels like Star Wars. It feels wholesome and complete, and advancing the overall story, even if a certain Jedi is involved still. How could he not be? There's so much to tell there, knowing what is to come.
Yeah their interaction was the only real potential miss for me in this one. The way he asked her if he would ever see her again made me cringe a bit.
I wonder where this episode will end up taking place in the Ahsoka show timeline. I'm sure we will get that introduction in her show, they're purposefully blending these shows together.
I'm beginning to get the sense that the Ahsoka show will have a "present day" timeline of searching for Ezra, while also having flashbacks (the Clone Wars with Hayden de-aged as Anakin, first time meeting Luke, etc.)
Cad Bane definitely killed Cara Dune. That’s how they’re going to write it. It would make sense in a way.
lol when Mando went looking for Cobb I thought he was actually looking for Cara Dune and that's how we'd get the closure on her character. "she's... ....... not here."
Not sure if it was mentioned but I love the visuals when Cobb is chatting with mando in the Freetown bar. You can see the intact Krayt Dragon ribcage lining the whole room. Seeing that and the Jawa sandcrawler with the big ass skull attached were both so cool.
There's a real Kingdom Hearts prologue feel to the last scene in this ep lol It's real weird to have two episodes of "The Book of Boba Fett" not even feature him. I loved both episodes but I agree it maybe should've been a Mandalorian special or something Loved Cad Bane
Young Luke looked incredible but jeez were his lines emotionless. I just didn't get the huge conflict with Mando and Grogu when Luke risked everything to save his friends. As soon as I saw the little pod on the back of the naboo starfighter on the last episode it was written in stone that Grogu was going to return to Mando.
So I don't care about this show but I like The Mandalorian a lot so do I need to watch the last two episodes of this and can I just jump into them without watching the rest of the show?
Honestly my first thoughts were when I saw his name in the credit were that he had actually done the lines but it had gone through some form of software to make him sound younger a la ‘auto tune’ which in turn messed the delivery. The true diagnosis is wild. The crazy thing is the hired that guy off of YouTube that massively improved the Luke ‘young’ CGI on this season but massively botched his dialogue.
Just recast him no one would care. Or at least normal people wouldn't But the last two episodes were great. Cad banes face was a little wonky but loved that he showed up. Dude must be like 50 or 60 right lol. And yeah they could have dropped the first four episodes and just done a quick few episode surprise mini series.
I'm still not into this show so far. It's over all the place focus and tonal wise (is it about bobo or is it the next mando season), and it's definitely way more for people well versed in the star wars universe than casuals. It's what makes me nervous about streaming, especially Disney +, all the money will be spent on built in fan bases, and those that aren't in the know are left out. Every marvel and star wars show is going to assume the fans know more and more about the back story. I just want entertaining shows that I can follow and enjoy and be engaged in without shows/movies x,y,z being required watching prior to starting.
I believe he's 72 in this. And as far as I know, Duros lifespan is about the same as a human, so yeah, he's a pretty old dude.
One of the weirdest things for me is that Grogu leaves Mando in the last episode of S2 and he's probably just going to be back with him in S3S1, if not potentially before that. It would have been cool to see a season of Grogu doing some Jedi stuff and Mando doing some solo stuff (and maybe we still will).
