This whole show just feels like reading a Wookiepedia article - it's all just informational with very little emotional resonance (to me anyway). They should've just made the show based around Fennec going on missions on behalf of Boba. Kept Boba as a quiet figurehead and let the best character of the bunch be the star.
I think this is a solid comparison. It has a lot of deep cuts and references, but it feels like it is missing enough heart and purpose.
This just feels so pointless to me. There's so many scenes that just drag on and on. I'm honestly pretty easy to please, if I'm entertained I'll forgive a lot of nonsense, but I was getting actively annoyed the first half of last week's episode to the point I was about to just give up. Luckily, once he gets his ship back it picked up a bit for me, but it just feels like nothing has happened. Feel like this could've been a Disney+ movie, the tv show format is not really doing it any favors.
I mean it tells you something about the series that this ep was the best one so far. An episode where Boba doesn't appear at all. Mando S3 will be awesome oh and by the way this EP was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard.
Yeah, this was not an episode of the same show we've been watching. And that's a very good thing. So much to love about this episode. Loved all the callbacks to the prequels. The N1 Starfighter modified to sound like a pod racer, flying through some of the scenery from the pod race. So good. Also love that they gave a bit of explanation for some of the continuity errors from Mando season 2 with the Dark Saber. And if BD-1 is there, I guess we know him and Cal get split up at some point.
this felt just like a prologue of Mando s3. Nice that we got all this set up now and can get right into things when s3 starts. Though its weird seeing an episode of a show called 'The Book of Boba Fett' and not having him even appear once. I fucking loved this though. Visually this is a massive step up even just for the fact that we got to see more than just fucking desert in this ep. That 'Halo' looking space city was a perfects change of scenery. I could've seen those Mod kids working so much better in a place like that. Totally different (and better) tone than all the Boba stuff in the first 4 eps. So many great details throughout and worldbuilding even just from the exposition between the Mandalorians was so cool. Seeing the destruction of Mandalore was a nice treat too. Pretty much all the prequel-esque stuff worked way better here too. I could watch Din flying around in the N-1 all day. Also I didnt like her as much in her previous appearances but Peli Motto had just the right amount of goofiness to her. The whole dating a jawa bit was great and I love that they're just like the amazon prime of tatooine and can somehow get you nearly anything you could imagine. Also curious if thats the same BD droid as BD-1.
Hands down the stupidest episode of this show so far, by virtue of being an episode of an entirely different show released under this show's name. Good episode of The Mandalorian though.
Sucks for anyone just watching Mandalorian, season 3 isn't going to make any sense if you don't watch this lol
I'm sure most people who've watched Mando are probably going to watch this as well. I mean its no different than missing something in one marvel show/movie that carries into the next one. If you miss it thats on you imo.
Lol shows have definitely done “the main character didn’t show up” things before. Beards Night Out is one of the best episodes of Ted Lasso haha
