i don't remember the reaction to flood? was it negative? i love that record. the run from flask to silent treatment was one of the best in the scene back then.
Found In The Flood is still my favorite album of theirs. Also, I’m glad to see a few mentions of Xed Out in here. Their full length from last year is also great. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Glock/Coma. It’s a new band that James is in with members of Be Well, Fairweather, I Am The Avalanche, etc. They recorded a single recently. I’m not sure when it’ll be out but I’ll throw a spoiler out there: it doesn’t sound like The Bled or Xed Out but it’s very cool.
i wasnt around for their heydey but its more so that making those songs drained them entirely, which is why they rewrote hotel coral essex instead of writing a new 10th track
From what I remember; a lot of fans were not happy with the direction of more moodier/slower songs compared to Flask. They did some of their biggest tours off that record but the reaction was not what they were hoping for.
I bought Found in the Flood at Best Buy when it released. Back then, you could buy a new album on sale for $8.99 or $9.99 depending. I really enjoyed the album, but I recall the reception was much more tepid than Pass the Flask.
Was listening to Heat Fetish the past two days. What I would give to get another album from these guys. No one writes music like this anymore! Bring back panic chords!
Same, I appreciate that there's a revival of 00s sceney metalcore at the moment but what I've heard so far still doesn't have that specific Every Time I Die/Norma Jean/The Bled/Poison The Well flavor lol
