Same. Don’t even want to rewatch it. Same killer or different story with similar supernatural elements? The latter could have potential at least.
So the grabber is turning into Freddy Krueger? Interesting. The first film was great and one of my favorites of 2022 so I’ll see this for sure
idk, it looked great to me. I'm so excited to see this movie. It's been too long since we've had a horror franchise that feels this fresh and renews the genre. This mask will find it's place on Horror's Mount Rushmore alongside Freddy, Jason, and Michael if they play their cards right.
Yeah, let's wait a bit before comparing it to Jason or Micheal lol. This series needs to become a franchise first and then we'll revisit that conversation
I just feel like there's such a strong feeling of iconography associated with this mask and the of originality of the first movie. And, for me, the first Black Phone is instilled the same feelings of fear that watching Halloween or Nightmare On Elm Street did as a kid. Unless the really drop the ball with this second one, this will easily go down as one of, if not, the best franchises that we've had in over a decade.
Liked that first trailer quite a bit, which caught me off guard since I didn’t really care for the first movie much at all
I won’t be watching the new trailer. I’ll wait and see more footage when I’m finally in the theater for it
Derrickson and Cagill are a power duo. I haven’t watched the trailer(s) but I’m interested in anything they put out
No thread for the sequel? I loved it. My theater clapped at the end. The dream sequences had me on the edge of my seat. As a huge fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, the vibes were so good. The music. The brother/sister relationship. It was a pleasant surprise that this was more Gwen's movie which is cool because I loved her feistiness in the first one. Telling off the Christian lady got some good laughs. Very happy to have had such a good theater experience too.
I thought it was also pretty good. The horror and violence are more intense, but the amount of exposition is a bit much. I liked the characters, though, and the snow covered Christian camp was a good setting.
