insane, why even release stuff in theaters at this point?

 

So they can pretend that the box office is tanking because people don’t like woke bullshit and no other reasons besides that.

 

Nothing like kneecapping your movie that just placed third at the box office!

 

It was pretty decently attended for a Sunday matinee. A movie for adults that would probably have some legs.

This will be better than that new Quiet Place film he abandoned.

 

Coincidentally, a new Blu-Ray of Shotgun Stories released this month. It came out before he really got attention but it is very good and should be seen.

I’ve been wanting to rewatch midnight special but it’s not streaming anywhere

 

Take Shelter is a masterpiece. Mud, Midnight Special, and Shotgun Stories are pretty good to really good. Oddly enough I still need to see Loving. Can’t wait to see this tomorrow.

Shotgun stories twice is an interesting choice. I remember having fun with midnight special.

He made a bold decision to let Nathan Fielder direct “Mud 2.” In the end, it was worth it.

 

I think the only other film of his I’ve seen is actually Loving? Which I remember, uh, loving at the time.

 

This was so damn good. Loved the cast. And when they burn down the bar, that’s just one of those scenes that feels so special and transcendent as it’s happening; I’ll be thinking about it for awhile and will always be a standout for me.

could have probably done without the interview framing device except at the end.

Really? I loved all the interview shit. My girl Kathy shined as she rambled about all the biker boys.

 

i liked the interviews & Kathy, just felt like they didn’t always mesh.

 

Saw this again and was even more enamored by Hardy's performance. He's not a ruthless tough guy, he's what happens when a dude who watches a movie about a tough guy and says "Literally Me" actually follows through with it. Kinda a shame how many people seem to write him off as "there goes Hardy with another silly voice" because I think this is the best he's been in like a decade.
