LOVE the Holly love! The record is so amazing. Production and songs are next level from someone who previously already had amazing production and songs. Not sure if it’s hyperbole to say Holly doesn’t miss, but of her 45+ songs she’s put out this far, I can’t think of any I think are bad; I can think of 25-30 I think are amazing. I would be so happy if Red Chevy from the new record became the giant hit it should be. No clue where it would be on a list, but the new Ellur record At Home in My Mind is super strong. Also Still Life by Future Teens is pretty amazing
There is one very glaring skip in the Holly discography now, but only because she collaborated a dude who later turned out to be a murderer and a pedophile.
It’s a huge bummer. I tend to forget about it when I play that album on vinyl, and then it comes up, and, ugh.
I've really enjoyed all of Oliva Rodrigo's singles, but more as a guilty pleasure then something I would listen to on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. I think I'm getting jaded with music, or maybe there's just too much to keep up with, especially since my twins were born last July. Here are the albums I've enjoyed the most this year (in release date order). Joyce Manor - I Used to Go to the Bar Sly Jr. - Natural Habitat All Get Out - Side A Tigers Jaw - Lost On You Noah Khan - the Great Divide
