1. Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties- In Lieu of Flowers 2. Super American- Gangster of Love The two albums I can’t stop listening to this year. The Aaron West project is so special. I could listen to the entire discography over and over. Super American is a band I’m new to, but the record is so catchy.
Love these. I was a bit surprised at the top 8! Then you guys launched in to all my favs. Love seeing some of the OG’s like Bayside and Strung Out find their way on to lists 30 years in to their careers. Very cool to see Barely Civil pop up a bunch. The Forecast comeback record was both totally new and totally familiar. That Southtowne Lanes album has been stuck on repeat a bit for me as well. As usual, a little something for everyone. Definitely some bands to check out even for someone who checks out the new stuff pretty heavily each week. I’ll have to roll thru my stuff and get a little list made up. It’s always a blast comparing at the end of the year and later on down the road.
I came here only to see what Grundy was repping that no one else would and I am not disappointed. Alien Ant Farm forever, yo!

For real! I saw them on the Koyo/Anxious tour and they were great! And Anxious was probably the best that night. So cool to see stuff like this coming out again!
A lot of albums that I've listed in my scorings like really poorly or didn't come back to too much - which of course won't make me scoff, it will just make me go and revisit some of them! Weird not to see Carly Cosgrove or Middle Kids out here (or, oh well, Pedro The Lion or Owen on the other hand) My two favorites so far have been "Older" by Lizzy McAlpine (a total surprise), and "In Lieu of Flowers" by Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties Plus, some other surprisingly-gripping releases that I think might not have been vastly discovered around here: Bess Atwell, Friko, Francis of Delirium, Apples With Moya, Been Stellar
