Spanish Love Songs deserves lots of attention for that album. I would have ranked it higher but it makes me really sad so I haven't gone back to it that much lately. It touches on mass shooting also and I find it hard to listen to Dolores. My TOP 10 1.) Dance Gavin Dance - Afterburner 2.) Charmer - Ivy 3.) Hot Mulligan - You'll be fine 4.) Spanish Love Songs - Brave Faces Everyone 5.) covet - techinicolor 6.) Dogleg - Melee 7.) Stay Inside - Viewing 8.) Charli XCX - how i'm feeling now 9.) Pay For Pain - Pain EP 10.) Belmont - Reflections EP

Same, I still liked it, #16 on my personal list, but it didn't grab me nearly as hard as her previous have.
aaaaaaand Gordi gets snubbed. But good thing The Used made it....................................................................................................................................
Following-up, I didn't know anything about Gordi before hearing her Like A Version cover of In The End and was totally blown away. Her new album is one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a longggg ass time.
I actually am not a huge fan of the album opening with Pink Diamond into Forever, but the run of tracks 3-6 and then tracks 8-10 are near flawless to me. Claws into 7 Years especially. If it was up to me, I think I’d lead with Anthems and end with Party 4 U. I dig Pink Diamond, but I think it alienated many listeners with it leading off the album.
I've not listened loads of new stuff this year but Phoebe Bridgers or Soccer Mommy are probably my number one. I've never "got" Dua Lipa at all. Never even come close to liking anything I've heard. Really not my thing.
Those are all the albums I've enjoyed this year so far. Top of 2020: 1. Silverstein - A Beautiful Place to Drown 2. All Time Low - Wake Up, Sunshine 3. Boston Manor- GLUE 4. i'm gonna save myself the work and say that all the records i never heard just don't exist. you're all making stuff up.
Great list of albums I have loved and some I have yet to listen to but feel compelled to do so after reading the write-ups here. Phoebe Bridgers, Soccer Mommy and Spanish Love Songs have been on my list of albums to listen to for a while but haven't gotten around to it yet - this week I'll aim to finally check those three out. Hard for me to say what my ordered list would be so far, but my Top 10 (no order) would probably include: Rina Sawayama - SAWAYAMA Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia Lady Gaga - Chromatica The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form (it's a bit hit or miss from me, but damn the hits are great - particularly If You're Too Shy, Guys, Tonight, What Should I Say, Frail State of Mind) Allie X - Cape God Hayley Williams - Petals for Armor HAIM - Women in Music Pt. III Chloe x Halle - Ungodly Hour Lauv - How I'm Feeling Christine and the Queens - La vita nuova (EP) Full album hasn't clicked for me quite yet to list it, but Katie Pruitt's Expectations (the song) is up there for one of my favourites of the year so far. Great stuff! Fiona Apple is great but super deep and hard to digest at times, so I have trouble thinking about where I would place it on a ranked list of albums. But definitely deserving of all the praise it gets. Also really enjoyed 5 Seconds of Summer and Niall Horan's albums, some great tracks on both. And leave it to a Will Ferrell movie about Eurovision to provide one of the best film songs in years IMO (Husavik). I love Eurovision and follow the competition religiously, but fully expected nothing from the soundtrack of the movie and that song is just great.
1. Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher 2. Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit - Reunions 3. Dogleg - Melee 4. Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud 5. O’Brother - You & I 6. Run the Jewels - RTJ4 7. Holy Fawn - The Black Moon 8. Grimes - Miss Anthropocene 9. Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia 10. Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - Alfredo 11. I’m Glad It’s You - Every Sun, Every Moon 12. Take Impala - The Slow Rush 13. Caspian - On Circles 14. The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form really enjoying the Hum album but only 1.5 listens in
Brian Fallon Spanish Love Songs Hot Mulligan. There may be more stuff released already that will be on my end of the year top 10, but quarantine has altered my listening habits right now (listening to a lot of older favourites like No Use For A Name, Yellowcard, and so so many more).
