How often do you drink? I could down a whole lot more when I was studying abroad than now, and I was a smaller human then
Not to sound like an alcoholic, but if I'm drinking light beers (Bud Light, Coors Light, etc) I can put down 12+ very easily and be fine. I don't typically do that anymore because I'm older so I normally just drink craft beers with stronger ABVs and depending on the ABV, I'll start feeling it after 6 or 7.
Went to Goose Island's block party tonight and had an awesome variant of Sofie aged in tequila barrels with mango. Also tried Lolita but was not a fan. Messed up by not going into the taproom to get on BCBS but I was both driving and enjoying the bands too much by the time I realized it.
My dad is heading back to MI tomorrow, and we're going up for the first time in 5 years next week for my grandma's 100th birthday. We went to Cycle last night she picked up some crowlers of Crank, Equinox, and Cream and Sugar Please and then a 6-pack of Green Bench Sunshine City IPA. My cousins in MI are El Catador members at Cigar City, so we went there last week to pick up their bottles plus some White Oak Jai Alai. All of that plus we've been collecting bottles from Cigar City and Cycle for the better part of the year. This is just my contribution, because they're supplying a good amount as well, and they work way harder to get stuff than I do at this point. It's going to be epic. tl;dr I'm going to have a badass bottle share with my extended family next week for my grandma's 100th birthday.
Detroit area. My grandma actually lives in the city, but well be staying with my parents in Allen Park.
Not ready to give up summer ales yet. Give me a summery craft beer I may still be able to find in an NJ liquor store.
Made my own six pack at the shop in town, here's what I got: Dan's Pink Skirt Narwhal Shorts Double Cream Stout O Fallon Pumpkin Breakfast Stout (Needed to get another one, so good) Darkhorse CoffPA and I also picked up another bottle of Big Griz, because man, that's such a good brown.
I remembered liking Dan's Pink Skirt last year and this year it was just meh for me. Same with their Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster; had one last night and it seemed toned down on the hops to let the belgian part of the DIPA come through and I wasn't feeling it. Breakfast stout is killer this year and Narwhal is always really good.
I had some last year, and it was so good. I'm not an El Cat member, but I have enough friends as family that are that I'm usually lucky enough to get to sample the stuff.
Beer Advocate bashes HopHands saying milkshake beers are not a thing. Tired Hand then makes a series of Milkshake IPAs. This month beer advocate publishes clone recepie. Lol.
