So I had it yesterday and it was amazing, I bought a different one from them today, it's a ginger flavor have any of you had it? Reviews?
Craft your own 6 packs are the best. Luckily, I live by 4 different places that specialize in selling individual crafts. I don't take advantage as much as I used to.
The Sierra Nevada one? Not really at this point given the age on the beers and how many of them were 'hopped up' beers. And, for me in Lansing, that pack was ~$28, which I wasn't willing to pay.
cycle does some damn great beers. i've got one of the white RareDOS bottles from ACBW in my house right now. Hoping to score the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee stout from this week's bottle releases.
Was lucky enough to have a good friend surprise me on Friday night with popping a bottle of Cigar City's Decoherence. Absolutely ridiculous. It's a blend of an imperial stout aged in brandy barrels and an imperial porter aged in bourbon barrels. The blend is then aged on Buddy Brew's coffee beans and toasted coconut.
Lately I've found out that I pretty much have enjoyed everything that I've tasted by Modern Times Beer. Especially Mega Fortunate Islands and Lomaland have been quite amazing to experience.
Picked up Perrin Lil Griz today, didn't have any big griz unfortunately. Also picked up screaming pumpkin because pumpkin beers are my weakness.
Modern Times are really great, if you ever see some of their seasonal bomber-sized ones out in the wild, they're almost always great
I am not sure if City of the Dead counts as one of those seasonals, but it's getting released here on friday so I am getting it! I live in Sweden, so I pretty much have to count on what gets released through the government controlled monopoly we got here.
City of the Dead is great, enjoy! And that's pretty crazy/awesome that you get Modern Times at all, hah
Hope those of you in Michigan grabbed some Psychedelic Cat Grass from Short's today. They bottled, shipped to distributors and had the beer on shelves within 24 hours. Bottle date of 8-17-2016. Ambitious and glorious, as it's one of the best hoppy beers in the state. Hope it makes it to Chicago for you Illinois folk.
I collaborated on a recipe with a friend for an IPA and I got to have a sample of it uncarbonated today and I think it came out really fucking good. Stoked to see if this places in the homebrew competition we're going to enter.
So Christmas 2014 set myself the challenge of drinking 365 new beers in a year, I managed to get to 351. So close. Realised last night i've done a pretty good job so far, and I'm sitting 254 new beers, so only 111 new beers to get through before Christmas day! Going to be fun.
Brother in law brought over some beers for brunch and soccer today. Dogfish Head Sea Quench Ale: was a good bit of sour, very refreshing. Dogfish Head Festina Peche: not a big peach fan but this was a good berliner. Cascade Kriek Ale: I've never had anything from Cascade but this was my favorite of the day. I was intrigued by the amount of sours they make. Looks like I have more to try. Evolution Nouveau Rouge: I'm not sure if we got a bad bottle but it was terrible. Murky, cloudy pour and the taste was well off.
Drank some of the most hyped, highest rated DIPAs in the UK from a brewery called Cloudwater tonight. Massively well received throughout the country, but all I could think while drinking it was "This is no where near as good as Treehouse". USA>>>>U.K. for beer by a big, big distance.
I never realised quite how close I got last year, so I'm pretty set on hitting it this year. It's a fun way to make alcoholism feel like a hobby.
Just got back from Cycle in St. Pete. They released their 3rd Anniversary beers all week and I got there in time to get the last one from Friday they had, plus one for each day of the rest of the week. Sending them up to MI with family to consume in October. Also picked up two Crowlers of Crank, one of which I'm drinking right now. It's been my favorite Florida IPA for a little while now.
Seeing if I did 365 new beers in a year and according to Untapped I Earned the badge for 500 beers on Jan 4th 2014 and earned the badge for 1000 beers on Feb 25 2015 so I'd say yeah.
I checked in one beer in 2011. I checked in my second beer in December 2014. I hit 500 on untappd on Sept. 7th, 2015. I hit 1000 on February 25, 2016. Edit: That's 616 days and I've had 1525 unique check in's (mind you, a lot of flights and/or samples).
Last Untappd milestones for me were 1000 on May 8, 2015 and 2500 on May 19, 2016. That's a lot of bottle shares and flights, otherwise I'd probably be dead.
