My favorite beer I had a the festival last weekend was the new Cascade and Phantom Carriage collab, it was one of the few beers that truly tasted brand new to me, like an entirely new and exciting taste

Ingmeyer Bergman - Blend of Cascade BBA sour quad w/Meyer lemon zest & Phantom Carriage Bergman sour blond ale

Excited to get home so I can read the commemorative Muhammed Ali issues SI, Time, and Life did, and go through my six pack of Brooklyn Lager.

Anybody have input on how early to get to Winooski Beverage for Heady Topper cases? It's a long shot but I wasn't sure if anyone has done it before. I'll be going to Burlington on Thursday and Winooski is right there so I'm going to try my luck.

Favorite brewery of all time is Harpoon. Has any tried their new Mango beer? Thoughts?

Second favorite right now is Founders! Going through pretty much all their beers. Just picked up their limited run of Red IPA. Very good.

One of the most inconsistent breweries that I have a love/hate relationship with is Flying Dog. I give them credit for being very open minded and trying a lot of things but it doesn't always work. I currently have their agave beer and it's sort of lacking. I also had their habanero beer and that is a one and done for the night.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

    Founders is money.

I cannot stand Flying Dog. Every beer I have tried from them has been subpar. Mint Julip, Dead Rise are atrocious.

I totally agree. I have pretty much stopped supporting them. I will drink my last 4 from them and say adios!

    Founders KBS is top notch!

Still have a few Goose Island Bourbon County's that I'm saving for special days too.

Love trying new stuff. Going to Jester King in Austin tomorrow to try some new stuff as well!

  10. Founders is very deserving of the great praise they get. For the longest time I was not really into some of their more well-known styles, but I have since come to appreciate them better and have fallen in love with plenty of what they do.

I just tried Mosaic Promise earlier this week and really enjoyed it. Still have a few KBS tucked away for next winter and beyond. And I even tried Dissenter the IPL once (which is a style I usually avoid) and liked it a lot as well.

Just bought 3 bottles from 5 Stones Artisan Brewing. Super curious to try them. They have some lovely looking brews.

drank Funky Buddha's lemon meringue berliner today, followed by MIA's Roarlando (blonde ale made w/ hibiscus and ruby red grapefruit). Both were solid, but I'd be more apt to drink the berliner again.

  15. Had a pretty awesome time brewery hopping in Asheville yesterday. Girlfriend took me up and DD'd for me as an way to start off the week of my birthday (not that I'm one of those "party for a week" people, but we won't do much of anything on Wednesday for my actual birthday).

Started it off with a bottle release at Wicked Weed for their Golden Angel apricot sour. They also had bottles of a peach brett wild ale collab they did with Lost Abbey, and it was excellent on tap... but not worth the $41/btl price tag. Yikes. Other highlights of the day included a tapping of 2015 White Angel, Burial's The Ocean Swallows The Sun hibiscus gose, and Burial's Hermit Saints brett saison.

Took home quite a good selection of bottles and glassware as well.

Had a phenomenal all-simcoe DIPA today at a local Kalamazoo brewery. Didn't know Simcoe could taste like that.

Used to say the same about Harpoon, they're still solid but not my favorite. Others may disagree but I really enjoyed the Mango pale.
Agreed, Flying Dog has yet to make a beer I enjoy.

Now Funky Buddha is pretty much the exact opposite of that. Haven't had a beer from them I didn't love.

I don't really ~follow~ beer that much but I've definitely started enjoying it more now that I work close to a bar that offers a large variety. Lately I've been enjoying stuff from Bottle Logic and Karl Straus. I also really liked Fremont Brewing when I visited Seattle earlier this year.

Ended up at a bar with multiple sours from Cellar 3 on draft, and they were pretty darn good. Turns out it's Green Flash's new sour brewery.

Found a case of Cigar City's White Oak Jai Alai sitting on the shelf at a 7-11 by my office today. The big liquor stores in town are selling it one can per person, and I could've walked out with a case of it today.

Had a Lagunitas Blood Orange the other week and really dug it. I've been really enjoying Harpoon's Wannamango lately- claims to be a pale ale, but I'd say it's more of a verrry light IPA with mango flavoring.

Dunno how far NH brews end up, but if anyone has a chance to try Smuttlab's East Coast Common (it's basically an IPL brewed by Smuttynose, Stoneface, and Great Rhythm Brewing), you will not regret it. I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but I'm thinking the California Commons would be much more my style... I gotta get out there sometime.

Hands down: Woodstock Inn's Double Pigs Ear is the best beer I've ever had. Double brown ale that resembles a stout, but it's surprisingly very easy to drink and delicious.

I love Wannamango. Fridge is stocked with them right now :). Definitely my favorite from them, followed by UFO. I'd say it's a lot more comparable to a flavored IPA versus a UFO.

Having a great trip in New England thus far. Been to both Harpoons - Wannamango is delicious. Stopped by Shipyard in Portland - not impressed unfortunately, but the Allagash tour was really cool.

Also stopped at Downeast Cider in Boston, has anyone been?

Enjoying a can of Hoof Hearted's Everybody Wants Some series right now. It's Idaho 7 hops and good lord, if this is like the NEIPA's that are out there in terms of mouthfeel and grain bill, then I get why @jaimej shits on my Midwest IPA's! Christ this is great. This is the mouthfeel that a lot of stouts shoot for but can't get. Unreal beer.

Inoculum Ale Works dropped two new beers today, a strawberry/lime sour and a green tea farmhouse ale. Working out an order w/ some friends to get shipped to us, hopefully in time for this weekend!
