Pit stop at the Saratoga Tree House hellll yeah. Do they do cans there? I know they have weird rules about cans/drafts and all edit nvm found it
I was really excited to try this but the glass had dish soap on it that I didn’t see before pouring. Luckily I have a little left in the can and it is very good.
Wow, all Iron Hill Breweries have closed, effective immediately. Not the best in the world and the menu was overpriced, but I have a lot of memories tied to the Chestnut Hill location. There's also one about 5 minutes from me that had a cool outdoor beer garden that the kids could run around at. I hope another brewpub swoops in to the location, lot of potential.
Breweries are closing left and right by me. Many of which have been around for 10+ years. Seems like a super bleak business right now - which sucks. I posted a few months ago, the local bottle shop I go to weekly used to get like, 18-24 new beers from around the region every week. Now, I'm lucky if I find six.
The bubble absolutely burst, coupled with an oncoming recession, people aren’t buying craft much anymore.
I have been spoiled with Other Half, Tired Hands and Human Robot nearby. The mix six that got me into craft beers is dead, and even though I can grab TH or OH at the local Giant, the joy of finding a new beer/brewery to fall in love with is gone. Bummer
Other Half and Tired Hands distribute in the Cleveland area. I'd say Other Half is one of the few breweries that appears to still be churning out and distributing a bunch of new(er) IPAs quite frequently. That's probably one of the largest brewery presence at my local shop, actually. .
Other Half now suffers from the dip in quality in their distribution channels combined with local breweries catching up in terms of NEIPA production. It doesn’t stand out like it used to. I wouldn’t recommend anyone spending $20+ on one of their 4 packs.
$20 a four pack these days given the rising costs of their inputs feels low to me, to be honest. edit: of an NEIPA, I mean
Found a variety IPA15 pack of southern tier brewery at Walmart earlier this week for $17. That was a nice find. My usual 6 pack of yellow voodoo rangers is $9.
Chilling at The Bruery and just chatting up the tender. He’s letting me try any of the member reserve stuff that I want. Kindness goes a long way fellas. so Happens Tuesday still sucks. But their other BA stouts they have are all pretty strong right now.
Steve has been a bruery society member for longer than a lot of brewerys last so I doubt it! He’s a great beer buddy if you ever need anything bruery related. Has shipped me multiple things. Felt wrong that I had never checked them out when I was in LA.
standouts from my road trip are lost forty brewing in little rock, wiseacre in memphis, and bearded iris in nashville. no regerts.
