They claim this bottled version hasn't been on tap, but rather this version is rum barrel aged and higher ABV due to it. The whole bottle equates to two glasses, so basically just two cocktails. ANYWAY, drinking it now and it definitely tastes like a really solid painkiller cocktail
just looked at my pics... yep. Definitely on tap and the lapu lapu was as well. At least in PDX. Wasn't in Orange. Both were good though! The 3 YA BA stout was also great and I'm not a banana adjunct stout lover. Maybe they didn't do the tiki thing in Orange: all day // & tiki bar featuring special tiki-style pours of “lapu lapu,” “jungle bird,” & “rummed painkiller”
Labor Day week ended up being a fun tour of New England breweries. Got a house in Maine for the week. Started out at my parents in CT and then managed to go to Treehouse Tewksbury. I’m not a golfer but a crazy extension of their brand. Maine Beer Company has become a tradition for my annual Maine trips and nothing beats fresh Dinner on tap. Finally, on the way back to my parents we needed to pitstop for lunch…conveniently right by Treehouse Charlton. I will be set for fall with Treehouse’s Marzen and Festbier, and MBC’s Dinner and Prince Percy.
I’m actually doing the Tree House passport right now, which involves going to all 7 locations plus a couple other things. I go to Tewksbury very regularly (they’re in contention for my favorite brewery) but it’s been fun seeing how ridiculously elaborate all of their locations are
Deerfield is my home base because it’s only a 30 minute drive. Their Cape Cod location is beautiful, gotta get out there again next summer
I got to do a few off of my list this summer. Unfortunately, I was at Treehouse Sandwich last summer on my birthday, which is a stamp to get, but it was before the passport existed.
Its nice that all Treehouse locations seem to be a unique standalone place that has their own speciality while also remaining true to the core brand. The pizza is not to be slept on. The only exception I would say is Treehouse Woodstock, which is the farm/orchard they took over. I do not know if they will remodel that space eventually, because it is quite rustic, but I also think that they do not really know what they want to do with that space. The cider output is quite low.
Treehouse is my all time favorite brewery I’ve ever had. I need to make it to one of the breweries one day. The package @BlueEyesBrewing sent me from them was incredible and I wish I could easily have access to them haha
It’s crazy how far treehouse has come over the years. This is a picture from the first time I went to their spot in Monson 8.5 years ago. I waited in line for like 45 minutes, before they even opened, and I think I was allowed to get like 5 cans and a growler max.
bout to start stalking stores around me for the king of the hill alamo beer from alamo brewing in san antonio. worst case scenario: a 3 hr road trip to pick up a few cases directly. any recs for breweries in nashville would be greatly appreciated. drivin up there in a few weekends to catch a dynamo game.
Honestly bummed I'm not drinking this outside hence me being in this thread, but having a Cruz Blanca Chelada and I just love a zingy citrus beer. Off Color Yuzu Fierce is the other big summer one for me
Headed from Philly to Dorset Vermont for a wedding next weekend. Anyone familiar with the area? Any spots I need to check out/beer that should be easy to grab there?
I fucking love Tree House. They have a location that’s 30 minutes from me so it’s nice not having to drive to Charlton but part of me misses the novelty of it
I am usually broke but can get like 6 limes for a dollar at this Hispanic grocery store near me and it's such a game changer putting lime juice in cheap ass beer.
you’ll probably drive right by Suarez on your way there or back. Just depends on timing if they’d be open or not
I’d recommend Barrique (best in town), Living Waters (doubles as a coffee shop, east side location is next to Grimey’s Records), Smith & Lentz (great pizza), and Fait La Force (walkable to/from Geodis).
I'm actually drinking a Shipyard Pumkinhead right now. My wife grabbed me a six pack when she was out with my 3 year old, and he was very excited to tell me he bought me pumpkin beer. Flash forward a could days later, 8am getting ready for daycare, he runs to the fridge, "DADDY do you want your pumpkin beer????," wasn't sure how to explain that 8am isn't really pumpkin beer time
