I don’t use a glass at home either

We weren't allowed to use glass at home growing up (we always broke things on the granite counters) and I have too much fun glassware at home now to not use it. It can be a pain to get my glassware 'beer clean' though, even with a good amount of barkeepers friend.

I’ve seen more bars and breweries doing slow pours for lagers lately, hell even for Schlitz, and the taste is noticeably better.

I’ll have to look into this but I think you’re right. I’m in off premise sales so not sure but we did gut our in house draught department years ago to a skeleton crew. We primarily go third party now

Don’t age your beer, just drink it fresh.
    This beer is ass.

Got a couple of Spyglass’ English Pub ale’s at home now after my trip up north. Brewery is so consistent. Had their Mexican amber ale while I was there. Thing went crazy

We reach for the longest shadow

I'm a huge beer noob. I'm 34, but only drink occasionally, generally when I don't have to pay for it, like work functions or the like. I say that to say, take it easy on me.

Recently I drank an Abita Amber Ale and thought it was one of the better tasting beers I've ever had. Is it safe to assume other ambers taste similar and that's not anything special to that specific one? Any other types of beer to be on the lookout for that I might like if I loved that one?

Went to Spyglass tonight for trivia and had a side pour kölsch and an English brown ale. Both were delicious.

Amber ales are not going to be all that popular. Not many craft breweries will be releasing them. Check out Bells Brewing Amber maybe. You can also look out for Vienna style lagers which will be similar in color and maltiness I would say but might not have as much of a hop flavor as an amber ale though.

As crazy as it sounds marzens (or sometimes referred to as Oktoberfest beers but not to be confused with fest bier) are right around the corner. These might also be up your alley.
    Good beer hunting. Cheers.

Alaskan Amber Ale is a go to for me but outside of that, and maybe Bell’s, I don’t drink too many Ambers.
