Planning a trip to Burlington, VT in a month and hoping to hit The Alchemist and Lawson’s. Anyone have any other recs?
Von Trapp is a nice spot with great views, and their beers range from decent to good. Just an FYI for Alchemist since I messed it up a couple weeks ago when I was there, they close at like 6pm so make sure you go during the day. Also Ben and Jerry's Edit: Also, the Prohibition Pig in Waterbury is a good spot for food and beers, and there's a beer store across the street from them with a bunch of VT and other NE beers for sale
Ben & Jerry's was #1 on our list haha. Thanks for the recs and watchout for Alchemist! Appreciate ya!
That beer store is fantastic, I stop there every time I’m up that way. Lots of good international stuff too the last time I was there, granted it’s been a few years.
The Beverage Warehouse in Winooski is my personal go-to spot for local beer if I'm ever in the Burlington area. Tend to always have the hyped stuff like Heady, worth checking out imo
foam and Burlington beer company Champlain orchards might be a little far but if you like cider pick some up if you see it in the store Take a walk around shelburne farms
Our hotel is right near Foam, so that was gonna be an easy nightcap spot for me and my wife. Shelburne looks sick. Thanks!
Dang. Track 7 was a staple brewery out here. Them closing right after Device went under a few weeks ago is deeply troubling.
Condolences. Breweries and taprooms closing have been brutal this year. I think Golden Road shut down their taproom not long ago, and the sudden closure of Device was wild. I thought T7 was safe considering the Natomas taproom was always packed and they seemed to distribute pretty widely. Hope something is able to come around and replace T7 and Device for you. Geisthaus opened up recently, and they seem to be doing pretty well.
Yeah that’s essentially how I pour as well the way he did it on the left however with draught I think it’s different. Like he points out though you don’t want that happening in your stomach you’ll be super full. Regardless if you pour into a glass you’re always going to have less carbonation in your stomach.
I'd feel better about it for a place that gets regular cleaning and service on their lines - like every 2 weeks.
At home, I stopped pouring my beers into a glass. Just drink it straight from the can like an unhinged animal.
If you are serving AB products I believe the distributor is obligated to clean their lines like every two weeks.
I'm on an unofficial beer pause because I have a newborn right now and even having one drink at night makes me too tired to get up with her
Yeah the issue is not all line cleaning companies are good (most are bad) and the majority of bars don’t clean their own lines (or didn’t when i last worked in the industry).
