I have recently seen this brewery out of Arizona called Roses by the Stairs. Looks like they make a lot of emo/pop-punk inspired beers (Ex: a Juturna kolsch). A lot like Ratio Brewing in Denver.
I’m headed to Scotland tomorrow and going to go to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness. Anyone ever been and have recommendations on some good Scottish beer?
I was in Edinburgh in August. I’m a (USA) domestic guy so I liked Tennents and Innis&Gunn. I got a few cans of Loch Lomond brewery at lidl that I liked. I don’t remember what I had and didn’t write it down knowing a time like this would come. Since I have been back my social media algorithm has suggested vault and fierce beer
I went to the new Suarez Family Brewing taproom this weekend. Quite lovely, you can see all of the hardwork and thought they put into the layout and design. Still feels very them.
They're still keeping it simple. 2-4 drafts at a time, with 1-2 vintage bottles for on-site consumption.
Occasionally they ship to most states via half time beverage so I ordered their 6-bottle country beers package last time. Still haven’t broken into any of them but very excited to! Also, I was just in LA for Joni Mitchell on Sunday night and checked out Highland Park and Homage on Monday. Both worth a visit (they’re within a block of each other), but was especially impressed with Highland Park. Really well-executed beers! Brought some stuff home too
Richmond,VA a couple ipas, couple lagers, saison Bernice and a ba triple. Hopefully get more saison in the future
Bernice is so good. Love their lagers as well, I think their IPAs are solid but I’m not a big hops guy. Do you remember what the tripel was called?
Dovetail has basically been my neighborhood brewery for the past five years but I don’t know if I have ever seen them brew an amber ale
Didn’t the magik man start another brewery in Pa? that’s too bad to hear though. I use to love stopping by there for lunch on my travels.
This is the spot. Meetinghouse he probably knows the CC guys or helped them but he’s not one of the two main guys there. I meet them a few years ago because I was pouring their beer for a festival.
Try it out and let me know. You’re right though those first few years when it was just the Brew Cafe were really cool.
Most everything they do rips, the Vienna included. My fiancé and I actually just did their brewery tour for the second time last weekend in a group of six. The first one we did six months ago before the Wall Street Journal article they were featured in under "Best Brewery Tours in America" or whatever had six people, four from our group. The total tour group was five times bigger this weekend. At any rate it's cool to see them expanding now after I used to do regular bike runs to pick up cans during the COVID era when they did not have the taproom open.
