Jack’s Abby doesn’t miss. Glad they brought these back as seasonals, I loved their lagers of the world series
Was with the FW rep today and he gave me some samples. Their new mind haze cosmic crusher has been getting a lot of buzz:
What does everyone like from San Diego? I'm going there for part of the week and I'll try to hit some breweries/beer spots. My goal is at least North Park and Pure Project.
Pure Project is my favorite SD brewery! I’ve never been to Eppig but I’ve heard good things about the beer and location.
Finally got a chance to head over to Tree House Sandwich this weekend since I was on the Cape for my mom’s birthday. Didn’t stop in for a pour since it was like 11am but got a variety case of ipas and a couple other random 4 packs. Cracked open a Very Hazy with dinner last night when we got home, good shit:
I'm not mad, just disappointed. Getting beer at treehouse is a chore though, having to buy a ticket first or reserve a time slot to be there.
Standard Beer, which is a beer bar in OTR, is a good stop. They just had their anniversary party and should have tons of good stuff left over. Also, Bock Fest was this past weekend and many breweries/bars should still have some on tap, if you're into bocks and/or doppelbocks.
any recommendations for breweries in london, england would be very appreciated. will be landing there tomorrow for 4 days.
First time I’ve ever seen Trillium distributed to anywhere near me. Picked up: Fort Point Pale Ale Melcher Street IPA Mass Ave DIPA Crown And Crate DIPA Congress Street IPA
Anyone here going to a Zwanze Day event tomorrow? I've never been but the beer this year sounds interesting/funky. A seaweed lambic. Novare Res in Portland is tapping their kegs at 3 tomorrow but I probably have to be there before noon to get a ticket which is the only thing making me question even trying.
I bought a ticket to the one at Sante Adairius’ Oakland location. $100 for a glass and 8 6oz pours. I’d considered going to Russian River instead because there’s no ticket required and it’s just pay as you go, but it’s quite a bit further and most of my beer friends decided to go to the Oakland one. I’m really looking forward to it but not sure how I’m gonna feel about the algae beer lol. Also related to Cantillon, I cracked my bottle of 2023 Sang Bleu a couple days ago and it was delicious.
I actually just missed getting it by probably 15 minutes! The place was slammed with barely any room to breathe, no seats left anywhere. We were on the waitlist for the Zwanze beer at spot 13 or so, gave up on all that and ended up at or local favorite brewery Barreled Souls with no waits or crazy crowds. Hope you ended up enjoying it! In other beer news, Tributary Brewing just had their Spring Mott The Lesser release over the weekend and I grabbed a few bottles of that for the first time. Was not disappointed with the first pint I cracked open last night and Im not usually the biggest fan of heavy/sweet imperial stouts. This one wasn't a sugar bomb and drank like a 5%er at like 10.5% abv. Also didnt have the overwhelming maltiness I get with some poorly balanced stouts. Definitely going back for more in the fall.
