I am so sorry. I'm glad you guys had something to bond over to where he can live on in those memories. If ever I find that brew near me, I'll think of you and your dad!
@waking season fuck, I'm so sorry to hear this, please know that this stupid little thread on a music website is with you in spirit
Hope you’re doing well @waking season and thanks for sharing. My dad passed last year and he also liked discovering new beers with me. We bonded a lot over beers in my backyard and he gave me my first couple beers growing up.
I haven't logged a single thing in untapped since I had a kid, I just drink and try to remember what I like now hah
385 check-ins this year, which is my lowest in a long time (last year I was 472) However, there's no way the Check-Ins by day are right because it says I only have 7 check-ins on Mondays and I drink/check-in almost every Monday...Likewise, it has me at 47 check-ins on Tuesday and I rarely drink on Tuesdays... 117 different breweries top 5: Other Half (22) Abomination (17 Hop Butcher (17) The Veil (15) Drekker (14)
I didn’t get to make it to release day, but I swung by a couple days later to pick up my members order. They still had a lot on hand too, excited for them. Really enjoy their stuff.
Anyone ever use one of these? My wife got it for me for Xmas. Not sure if it's psychological but I think the beer does taste better/smoother running through it. But not sure lol. Fun gimmick though.
Never heard of that... has decent reviews. You try a blind taste test? What beer(s) have you tried with it?
Recent pickups in my fridge I meant to post from before Christmas, 15 different beers (and a cider) all from local Maine breweries: Includes Maine Beer Co, Mast Landing (maybe some of my favorite stouts), Barreled Souls, Belleflower, Foulmouthed, Foundation, Norway, Sacred Profane, Urban Fermentory, Oxbow, and Odd By Nature also had my first pastry sour a couple days ago from Drekker (Slang Du Jour Lemon Meringue Pie) and it was quite an experience. Nothing like any beer I've ever had. Kinda hard for me to even call it beer tbh.
I’ve become a pretty big fan of Barreled Souls recently, their porter is one of my favorite new beers I tried this year
I'm pretty lucky to have their brewery like 30 min from me, gotta get back over there to grab some of their bottled stuff. They always have a pretty diverse tap list too. I like a lot of what I've had from them and have been meaning to get into their darker beers since I've heard a lot of good things about them. I just had their raspberry jam/vanilla stout the other day, it was a bit of a miss for me, just leaned too heavy on the raspberry for me, but they're constantly coming out with new ones so I'll keep trying them haha
Oxbow Farmhouse Pale is one of my faves. It was distributed to the Bay Area for a little bit, but I haven't seen it around in ages so not sure what happened. I'd really like to make my way to Maine for the beer and natural beauty.
