i love that. happened to me down here once, too. but i also hate it b/c it means the chance of it happening again goes down.
_______________________________________________________________________________ The Deets…. The looooong anticipated release of Peabody’s Blendiculous #3 with Fonta Flora is finally here! This brew promises to be one of the most complex and interesting brews that we have tried to attempt…but with a little mastery from the man with the long flowing beard and the red brewers boots, we have managed to put together the best beer that you will ever put in your face…**completely non-biased statement**…This ain’t just your normal weak, pansy, sour, one dimensional, nerd beer…it’s a slap in the face with the backside of the ring hand, make your “generations” feel it kind of brew...it’s a makin’ sure that collar is feathered and the floss is twinklin’, don’t forget that crease in the cap, kinda brew…It’s Blen F’n Diculous Ya’ll!! Settle on in for school cause it’s time for your lesson… The Specs on the beer… Soooo what do you get when you take two different beers…a super dry tripel with brett and a tart Appalachian Saison with local “house yeast”….Age them for 6 months in eight “high end” California wine barrels from Robert Craig Winery and Wente, each different varietals, then toss in some local blackberries for 2 of those months to extract some extra wine character/goodness…Blend all that amazingness into two separate bottling tanks (is your head spinnin’ yet?)…THEN blend those tanks as the beer is being bottled for an extra tip of the cap to its namesake? You get the best beer you’ve ever had…period…kiss the ring… Tasting Notes: Bright acidity, with very well interwoven notes of white wine (peaches, crisp apples, and wine must) in the initial palate, transitioning to soft red wine notes (dark berry, subtle dry tannins, strawberries) with very elegant notes of blackberry that knows it’s place as a compliment to the barrels…Delicate yet assertive in it’s complexity ....cellar ability? With the amount of layers that have been built on the foundation...what do you think?! How it’s goin down… The release will begin at 10AM with a 3 bottle limit. Numbered Wristbands will be handed out beginning at 7AM to prevent folks from having to stand in line for hours in wait… You cannot get a wristband early... You CANNOT camp overnight at Peabody's... as always it will be 15 degrees and snowing before wristbands start being handed out, at which time it will magically turn to sunny and 70 degrees! There will be aVERY LIMITED number of cases set aside for shipping orders…if you plan on shipping please contact us atshipping@peabodyswineandbeer.com now and be prepared to prepay and have all your “ducks in a row” with us so that we can get you boxed and ready to roll promptly after release…once it’s gone…it’s gone! Please do not use the shipping option if it is at all possible for you to make the release as, again, there is a very limited amount available for this option, please be courteous and let those who absolutely can’t make the distance use this choice! _______________________________________________________________________________ ^^ Pretty stoked about this being released nearby in 2 weeks. Also love the ramblings of whoever wrote those descriptions above, haha. Too bad the bottle limit is only 3 btls per person, and my girlfriend will be out of town that weekend so she can't come with me to buy more. Also, I included the bit at the end in case someone on here wants to jump on that shipping option. I'd move fast if I were you though.
Awesome, thanks. Not super hopeful that they'll ship out of state, but I sent an email asking. Love Fonta Flora so much.
Unfortunately, despite being only ~45 mins from my house, I am not very familiar with this bottle shop or how they ship stuff. I'd e-mail them and find out though!
Interesting. Figured it was worth a shot, so I emailed them. I'm hoping it's not like "hey you have to buy eight bottles worth!" but I would understand if there was a minimum purchase order for shipments.
I'm sure it won't be more than 3. If they're limiting in-store purchases to 3 then I'd imagine the same is true for shipments. Otherwise that'd be exploited heavily.
Picked up some good stuff yesterday, managed to get a bottle of 120 Minute, Oatmeal Cream Pie, and Shorts Anniversary.
Checked out a cool brewery in Phoenix called Mother Bunch. They had a Pineapple Gose which was really really tasty, and also an Oatmeal Chocolate Stout that was fantastic.
I'm interested to hear if they'll ship to bigmike or not. If not.... there's another pretty big release (Foothills BA Sexual Chocolate) going on "nearby" (an hour's drive away) that same day, which I think will work to really drive the crowds down at each release. You'll have your sour crowd at one and your stout crowd at the other. That being said, the owner of Peabody's has already said that after you get your 3 bottles you can hop back in line as long as you don't cut off anyone who hasn't gotten theirs yet. If I'm able to grab some extras by doing this, I'll gladly ship some to anyone on here who wants it but can't get it.
I just got an email back from Peabody's saying that they would ship to New Hampshire, so unless a state has crappy laws I would think they would be able to ship to anyone.
Store will actually ship this to me, but in the future if you ever want anything from the NJ/PA/NY area, I'll happily trade for any other Fonta Flora stuff you get extras of.
Oh yeah, very much looking forward to it. I have a group of friends going to the BASC release, and then a group coming to Peabody's with me, and then we'll all meet up that night and switch out so everyone gets some of everything. Awesome! Glad to hear that.
Absolutely. I grab extra FF btls as much as possible to trade. If you see something being released don't hesitate to message me and ask me to grab one for you. I like pre-orders because they help me manage (and not over-spend, like I'm known to do often...). I have a few extra bottles of Fonta Flora Brun Brutus (dark dandelion saison) right now, as well as an extra bottle of Burial's Ulfberht Baltic Porter if you (or anyone else) is interested in trading. Both are 750ml btls.
