It's non-alcoholic, but I'm currently drinking a salted caramel root beer from a local gourmet soda company and it's amazing. Kind of like drinking caramel corn, haha. They also have a candied bacon cream soda that I need to try next time.
Haha, I had a shitty beer festival today and then turned down the opportunity to drink Waldo's (one of them being purchased by a distributor) so I could have Aunt Sally (which was fantastic; smells hoppy like a Lagunitas beer then tastes like Sweet Tarts) and a Jolly Pumpkin beer called Biere de Mars. Great night.
Oh man, this is my kinda thread. Been drinking a ton of lighter stuff lately, particularly Bell's Oatsmobile and Founders Palm Reader. I went somewhere that had Project PAM on tap today though, so I had to get a glass.
I had Aunt Sally when I got home the other day, I think it's fantastic as well, and my dad isn't a huge fan so more for me lol
Spent yesterday at the beach drinking Anderson Valley Briney Melon Gose, and heading out to the pool today with some Jai Alai. Just a little day drinking on a couple wonderful afternoons. Good times!
That stuff really is fantastic. I've tried a few that aren't too bad at all, and some that are unbearable. A lot of them use sorghum and I can't stand that flavor in beer, but some of the buckwheat GF beers aren't half bad.
I had Bright well after three weeks and it was still great, so could just be either the batch or different tastes. Had the Briney Melon Gose the other day and loved it. Gonna be a great go-to summer beer for sure. And you can never go wrong with Jai Alai.
I enjoyed the Briney Melon but I will still go for a Kimmie, Yink, & Holy Gose or a Blood Orange first every time.
Had a Prairie & Evil Twin themed night on Saturday with a couple friends. Prairie: Bomb Pirate Bomb Bible Belt (collab with Evil Twin) Barrel-Aged Bomb Christmas Bomb Vanilla Noire Evil Twin: Imperial Biscotti Break - DeCicco (coffee, chili peppers, and hazelnuts) Even More Jesus Aús Más Café Jesús We didn't get to the Evil Twin Doughnut Break or the Imperial Biscotti Break Natale. But we did also drink Angry Chair's Citrus IPA w/ blood oranges, Coppertail's Whoops, and Terrapin's French Toasted Wake 'n' Bake.
The DeCicco's Biscotti Break is great. Probably my favorite of the variants other than the Barrel Aged version. Any issues with infected beers? I've had a lot of problems with them being infected (Both Prairie and Evil Twin). Specifically the Noir variants and most recently the Cognac Jesus.
Ugggghhhhghghhghghghgh I just got a call from FedEx confirming they lost one of my trade boxes with about $150 of beer in it.
never had an infection issue with either brewery before. DeCicco's was great. I still love the original, though. Haven't had BA. We don't get a lot of Evil Twin in Orlando. Loads more Prairie. The newest batch of Pirate Bomb, the local Total Wine got 1 case and it was gone in under an hour at $13/bottle.
I keep winding up with time to kill on Mondays, so I've been hitting up a different place each week that I do. Decided to hit up Mellow Mushroom today since I was in the area and they generally seem to have a good tap selection. Walked into a full pour of KBS for $6. Wasn't expecting that.
It said $8 on the menu, and I was perfectly fine with that, especially given that I was the only person at the bar and I was drinking KBS on draft, but the price was icing on the cake. This same location had CBS last year and my dad and I showed up at opening and we were the only people there. I don't get it.
