Stopped at Prairie today on a cross country drive. Small little spot but was totally dead so got to sample a lot. Lot of hit or miss just like their cab and bottled offerings but they had a sour that was inspired by a Thai food place by then that was so good. Mango, jasmine rice, coconut cream sour.
This local beer shop has kind of hyped these ipas from frost beer works and they’re fine. Disappointed because I had my hopes up a bit. But at least it was cheap.
Drinking the cola variant of BCBS and I don’t think I like this at all. Definitely my least favorite version of this beer I’ve had, might not even finish it.
If you’re a fan of lagers and can get your hands on Wayfinder from Portland, OR, do it! Great stuff. Drinking their funeral bock now. It’s a double-decocted black bock (7%). Excellent
I wasn't able to find time last weekend but I'll post in here as soon as I end up going. It's 30 mins from my apartment
I've been holding this for a while for some special event or whatever, but Sunday night is good enough for me. Honestly this exceeds expectations, truly great. Port barrel-aged imperial stout with Syrah grapes Truly like nothing you’ve tasted before. We started this project over three years ago with our standard Black Tuesday base and laid it to rest in port pipes. We blended in fresh Syrah grapes to sweeten the base beer through the years. We let it age until it finally felt ready to unleash upon the world. Portified Black Tuesday is an immensely complex, concentrated, and decadent beer.
Reading that acquisition article is interesting. It’s true the craft beer lines are so blurred right now. A lot of “craft” breweries are now owned by other brands. Yet a lot of them still have great quality control and new interesting beers still so it really doesn’t matter. I’m speaking about Firestone for example who still does fantastic stuff. Though what’s interesting and very scary for me personally is the Monster buying those beers. Also in that article they mention Coke is working with Constellation. My main competitor in distribution is Reyes Holding. They’re a massive distributor who also distributes food/goods along with beer. They currently have rights to all coke/monster products and are besides my company the only distributor of Constellation beer brands(Corona/Modelo). If Coke is working with Constellation then it’s really not a good sign of my company still retaining our Constellation beer portfolio. Scared rant over
A local bottle shop just posted some beer from a Brazilian/Japanese all women brewery and they look a) beautiful and b) tasty https://en.japascervejaria.com/produtos-products
