Was up in Madison this weekend at Young Blood and had this guava sour that SMACKED of fruit flavor and I have declared it beer of the summer.
Managed to get out to Bozeman brewing today before going to the airport. Loved it, had a lambic-style w/apricots and a maibock, both really nice. Cool space and great staff. Took home a whiskey BA Flanders red w/cherries. Also, ridiculously cheap draft prices. Apricot was $5/8oz and bock was $5/16oz. Most of their menu was $4.50 or $5 a pint. Also hit up Red Lodge Brewing (good beer, awful service) and Roadhouse Brewing (great). Roadhouse had a bunch of oud bruins, I ordered one w/ plums which was a treat. Maibock Apricot
busting out a stout for game one of the finals. Imperial Stout with Thai Banana, Nilla Wafers, Maple Syrup, and Vanilla Bean. 13%
Fremont Brewing is worth a stop. The beer is solid, but even more important, they're right down the street from one of the best beer selections you'll find (in the country) at The Masonry - a wood-fired pizza place.
Bissell Brothers and Novare Res. In order: Bissell Bros Precept Pils (also had their Reciprocal IPA), Maine Beer Co. Dinner, Weihenstephan Hefeweizen, and Oxbow Infinite Darkness aged in apple brandy barrels
