Went to Notch yesterday and Tree House today. We are spoiled in Massachusetts for sure. Finishing up a TH Nine(th anniversary) right now and while it's not gonna top any lists for me it has the bubblegum thing going to the millionth degree which is cool.
Finally made it back to Portland and Novare Res yesterday and it felt so good to be back to a more normal state of mind and out with family
Any drink is acceptable whenever you want to drink it I personally would not want a stout on a 95 degree day but to each their own
Belching Beaver (Deftones beer!), Modern Times, Stone, Coronado Brewing Co were some of favs when I went to SD in 2019.
I’ve been really impressed by Pure Project! Stave and Nail is a new one worth checking out as well, but they’re up in San Marcos, so a little drive
Pure Project is one that I saw via googling that I thought looked good. Will probably go to at least one of the Modern Times spots as I've been drinking their stuff for so long it seems wrong not too. Belching is so hit or miss to me but looks like they have a some sours that the Mrs might like so who knows.
Pure Project does pretty much everything well, even though they’re primarily known for their hazies. I was really impressed by their barrel-aged sours
that sounds great, I don't think I've ever seen a tree house beer in a bottle before either I had beers with my friends for the first time in a very long time this weekend and this was the lineup, pretty solid for the most part - I brought tangled up in green which was a very surprisingly easy drinking crisp triple IPA
Yeah they just started fairly recently and have been doing the barrel aged stuff in 12 oz bottles. It's interesting, the fully barrel aged stuff is like $18-20 a bottle and sells out in less than a week every time. Meanwhile the blended stuff (like this) is $8-10 and sits forever. And in my experience is almost universally better.
Oude geuze ‘18 I still argue that Tree House stouts are better than their IPA’s. I had their barley wine and Belgian quad recently too and they were both very good
Mini fridges can get super expensive. I like the aesthetic of the glass door and what not of the nice ones, but I just bought a standard mini fridge for like 150 bucks lol
Personally, I like the glass door mini-fridges. Below is what I have. I’m not home so can’t check the brand. My wife bought for me for my birthday a few years ago. It has a digital temperature and a light at the top when you open the door. I never use the light, but it's pretty bright and lights up the whole fridge. It came with three shelves, but I took one out and just have the bottom (which fits 12 cans or bottles), the middle (which can fit either 24 bottles or 24 16 oz cans or 48 12 oz cans) and the top which fits 24 bottles or 24 16 oz cans or 48 12 oz cans). I think my wife paid between $250-$350 for it.
It's only Tuesday and it's been a very, very long week with our moving process... picked this up on the way home from dinner tonight. Citra Dreams NEIPA by Captain Lawrence Brewing Co
Going to Pacific City, OR next week for a beach house getaway with family. Saw there was some breweries nearby. Probably will scope them out.
