Lobster roll flight was great - can confirm. You're definitely going to pay a little more than you think for lobster rolls, but so worth it
I wanna say it was $24 / $30 depending on small vs large which is pretty much in line with other places in New England. Really good city to branch out with seafood in general.
Portland, ME might be my favorite “beer city” I’ve visited. Other than the ones mentioned, Foundation is across the street from Allagash and I enjoyed what I had from them
I've never gotten into Burial, and with them coming to Charlotte, I figured I should partake. I'm not huge on hop-forward IPAs or massive imperial stouts, but the original skillet sounds lovely. I'm preordering tomorrow.
Maine Beer co is a drive from the city, but has great pizza and solid beer too. Mast Landing is another worthy one outside of the city limits. If you're looking for something other than beer you can pick up some cool cider, mead, jun, etc at Urban Farm Fermentory.
Maine Beer Co is amazing too. Alright I just decided I'm making a trip up to Portland this summer lol, it's been a few years
Mast Landing is my personal fav in Maine. My little sister works at Maine Beer co, so I get free cases every now and then, and they also are quite good.
I've hated on Maine Beer Co. a bit because their pricing is relatively outlandish but it is a beautiful spot and the beer is awesome so it's fine. Had Second Dinner recently, it was great.
yeah I def wouldn’t buy a case as it’s like 100 bucks for 12 beers. But they do have amazing pizza too and your right it’s a real nice spot too!
thank you @waking season for the haul! I’m going upstate this weekend to spend some time on a lake so the timing could bot be more perfect. the family doesn’t like sours so I know they’re safe with me.
I finally committed to a beer budget, which was long overdue. I have quite a collection and need to start whittling it down. Hard to do when purchasing rate outstrips consumption rate lol
My beer fridge is filled to the brim at all times and I typically have anywhere between 10 & 20 beers sitting on top of the fridge. I have a take and replace system going on so it’s always filled. I always tell myself I’m gonna cool off on buying beers for a bit but then one of the many local beverage stores I follow on social media will post their daily/weekly deliveries and I just can’t help myself. One of the stores just added me to his texting list so he texts me twice a week.
I have a bunch of kettle/smoothie sours I’m down to send at cost or trade. I’ve soured (cringe) on the style a bit in favor of mixed ferm stuff and lately dark lagers. Hit me up if interested! I’ve got other stuff too.
100% this. Either social media or boredom lead me to browse the local shops even though I have enough beer for at least the next 5+ days haha
I did a little traveling post vaccine so I haven't bought anything new for home in a long while, definitely spent while out though
unrelated but I've seen your avatar so many times and finally listened to that record, and What Do You Want Me to Say is one of the best songs I've ever heard lol
