Casa Agria for mixed ferm saisons. There’s a modern times in Santa Barbara, but there were a lot of allegations against MT, so eh. There’s a cider/meadery called Apiary in Carpenteria that I’ve heard good things about but never been to. And lastly, if you’re in the mood for lager, I’ve heard Enegren in Moorpark is solid. But my number one rec would be Casa Agria.
Not sure if their old CEO no longer being involved is in any way directly related to the events this week, but the bottom half kind of alludes to it. Facebook page for the guy says he retired in March.
awesome, thank you! i was searching around what was in the area and saw Casa Agria and it definitely piqued my interest so good to know it's a solid spot
To me, they’re one of the most underrated breweries in the state. Their saison program is fantastic but I’ve heard good things about their stouts and ipa’s as well.
i hadn't heard of other half before yesterday when @spiffa0 sent me some and my initial reaction (I haven't cracked them open yet haha) was how cool the cans were
Officially booked flights to Asheville next month. Not sure where we'll be staying, but I'm hoping to get a list of 'must try' beer spots from folks in here. Bonus points if you include food and hiking recs too.
Hudson Valley Brewery wins the can art for me. I have a couple prints/tees from the artist they use Evan M. Cohen. Grimm is up there too. Joe and Lauren (I believe) both have MFA’s and were primarily artists before the brewery.
Seems i was not the only one thinking it With Pollyanna Brewing majority owner having left company, suburban brewery pledges to ‘make craft beer more inclusive’ At least they did the right thing? Odd they aren't answering questions unless there is some legal thing there.
Speaking of cool can art... also just found out this beer buyer who attended a bottle share I went to a while back was named in some capacity as a misogynistic asshole...and I can’t say I’m the least bit surprised. Dude rubbed me the wrong way almost immediately
New location is 30 mins from my apartment, might have to stop by today Maybe I’ll see wrestling’s own Mark Sterling
