Tried that Smooj hype seltzer. It was solid. In terms of other hype smoothie beers, Energy City makes them as well as any other that I’ve had
Happy Friday, and my diet is over. Went 3 weeks without alcohol during the work week. I’m proud of myself
The Energy City apple/cranberry beer was literally just cinnamon and sugar sludge. Hoping the mango/banana/pineapple one is better
@irthesteve yeah, this is gonna sound worse than what I mean, but sometimes with kettle sours they can taste a little like vomit. It’s subtle enough that it’s not disgusting, but a bit off-putting. But honestly, that could just be my weird thing.
Vomit/bile is always a super common off-flavor in sours. It’s butyric acid and some people are just way more sensitive to it than others. Haven’t had any Jreams in a while, but I remember liking what I did. Butyric has never really bothered me though, so I may not be the best judge.
I'm not an actual snob about many things but I'm kind of a snob about kettle sours. I've def had ones I've liked so I'm just being a h8r but I'll take the long version 10 times out of 10 if given the option. And I know not all kettle sours have it but I'm pretty anti lactose outside of pastry stouts (but I do love me a good pastry stout).
Not sure I’m digging the Idaho 7 hops in the last couple pale ales I’ve had, but any Double Daisy Cutter variant and Keeping Together releases are hell yeses for me
It's pretty solid, nice vanilla flavor. It's also the same base of the 7 variants that were expensive and @jciswhatis was talking about. It's good, bit I'd never buy 7 versions with different vanilla beans haha It's pretty weird, but overall good. Starts off kinda harsh but mellows out. Dunno if I would get again, but glad I tried it
