I saw on IG or FB today someone saying they thought it’d open in May, but not be completely done. So maybe just a grab & go situation? I’m just down for whatever as long as I can visit it once before moving in late June.
Beer shuttle for parking situation… opening as an on the fly/to go operation first and expanding through the seasons.
I cannot wrap my head around how cape tree house is going to be anything but an absolute traffic nightmare. Im siked for them and for anyone who spends a lot of time in the cape, but yea it's going to be an absolute mess I imagine
The charlton location will still be most convenient for me. But I'm only ever gonna get up there once a year at best.
A couple weeks in to drinking through your northeast beer odyssey, I'm curious - have you found that for the true NEIPAs of the bunch, Tree House is the best?
I'm sure I haven't had enough to know but the tree house very hazy is an incredible beer and might be my favorite IPA. Haven't had a king julius yet. Every time I have gone, they weren't selling it. The biggest surprise for me was greater good imperial Brewing's DDH pulp daddy. I think the biggest takeaway from my trip is how good hard cider is, especially dry/semidry. A dry cider has no sugar, low carb, like 120 calories, and still has a good abv at 5-6%. There aren't really any local ciders in south jersey, so of course I've had angry orchard or woodchuck or some more craft ciders like graft that are widely available. But the local ciders in vermont were excellent.
Yeah, I've gotta try Greater Good. Not sure I've had anything from them despite the proximity. KJ is great but wouldn't sweat missing it - any great beer from them is in pretty much the same ballpark. It's not very different from VH. I prefer Jjjuliusss to both, tbh. I'd put TH above most others in general, but I'm very spoiled living so close so it's somewhat of a self fulfilling prophecy at this point. Been pretty cider agnostic but similarly I've had a couple recently that have me rethinking that.
Yeah... not sure where the shuttle service will originate from. I can maybe see the beach parking lot off-season since they charge during the summer, but summer wise... the stop and shop parking lot, maybe? Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center? All those are smallish though. Sandwich HS, 4 MI away, is really the biggest parking lot in the town that maybe could be used as weekend only option. Will be interesting, for sure.
Are them and Tipple Glass affiliated with each other at all or do they just have the same exact vibes going on
This is one of the best ciders I’ve had, though I think it’s technically a jerkum. Blueberry pluot jerkum, aged 2 years, first in French oak barrels, then in freshly emptied port barrels. Unlike anything else I’ve had and fucking delicious. Wouldn’t necessarily describe it as dry though haha
When you buy a new fridge and it isn't big enough, so you use your mini fridge and that's still not enough
Yeah, my mini fridge is worthless. Holds about 60-70 beers depending on bottles/can size. But I always have at least a dozen or so beers sitting on top of it as well.
