I went for it. $15 seemed reasonable, and I have a gift card to use on the app.

They also have a 750 of Alexandra by Fair Isle Brewing...

They make my favorites. Glass2Mouth is cheaper and has solid ones as well. Some of the other ones are hard to find. I’m waiting on like 8 fb group requests to go through

Mission Dolores in Brooklyn is closing permanently. Unfortunately I never got a chance to go.

@DontTellMom came through with the latest chorus trade. Cheers to this haul!

its a bummer they closed. Always a good selection and they had a nice indoor/outdoor space.

You should check out one of their sister bars like The Owl Farm or Cardiff Giant

I was aware of Owl Farm, but didn't know about the other. Thanks I'll add it to my list!

I'm surprised we haven't heard of more spots closing...especially the ones in Manhattan

  11. I was so glad I still had a can of Allyship left at home to send to you. It's one of my favorite beers we've ever made. Too bad @bigmike hated it and trashed it on Untappd:

Hahahaha JK. Our brewer was truly honored by this review!

But I do hope you enjoy the selection even though I didn't include any IPAs (sorry, I'm just soooo bored with hazys at the moment). The sours range from pretty straight forward to a couple that borderline on a blend of weird and ridiculous. I'm super proud of all the lagers included, and I'm really pushing for us to expand our lager program even more this year. The stout wasn't technically brewed by us but we did collaborate on the recipe and we designed the art.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these! Hope you enjoy them!

@DontTellMom damn, I forgot about that beer. I work for a lager-focused brewery so I’m pushing to expand our boundaries outside of lagers and into hoppy biers. Our current IPL we have out right now is delicious. 7%, citra/lemondrop hot side with citra/lemondrop/centennial/strata in the dry hop. It’s great. I’ll see if I can wrangle up some of our schwarzbier and send em down.

Don't be sorry about the lack of IPAs, I am with you on this. While I would never turn down an IPA, I don't find the current trends as exciting as other beer styles. Everything you sent really does sound great.

    IOWA!

My lady and I are gonna take a weekend trip to Des Moines/Iowa City next month to get out of Chicago for a bit. Anyone have any brewery recommendations?

  16. Also, starting to build my supply back up. You can get threes pretty easily around here. Also, I can get other half at two places less than two miles from me. Wonder if covid has accelerated everyone's distribution plans.

  17. It absolutely has. I can't even begin to imagine how much revenue Other Half lost from their taprooms this year. I don't know of many breweries that have survived without massively expanding their package distribution this year.

I'm super thankful that I expanded our distribution last January, so we were already set up and running when everything hit the fan.

And funny you mentioned threes, they just came into NC this week too

  18. That IPL sounds fantastic, I love LD hops.

And yes please, I'll never say no to dark lagers!

My guess is many breweries have no other options than to distribute more or to distribute to wider areas. Their breweries aren’t getting as much business as before for obvious reasons so increased distribution is their only option right now.

I only got my current job because the brewery bought a small canning machine over the summer. It wasn’t in their plans at all until covid hit and then they created my position because I kept emailing if they had open positions.

  22. This is one where I liked the concept but execution wasn't great. Hard to take pictures when you use a mirror.

Never heard of either of the two hops here, but a nice start to my Newgrass haul. Also is my 2500th distinct beer check in to untappd, wow.

We use loads of tettanger at work. We made a styrian wolf IPA that was brewed before I got hired and on my second day I helped dump it because we didn't like the way the hops presented in the beer.

Yo, @DontTellMom what's the Tiny Bus Home reference and how do we do an inter-state collab since our flagship pilsner is also vehicle related.

  25. I'm not a big fan of SW in IPAs either, but I was very happy with how it performed paired with Tett (one of my personal favs) in this Pils.

The Tiny Bus Home name came from our brewer actually owning a "tiny bus home" he built as a vacation place using a old school bus. Unfortunately it was destroyed back in January when a tree fell on it.

We've done a couple Zoom-collabs during the pandemic, let's get our brewers talking together about it!
