Trying to figure out my beer line-up for tonight. Probably a few macros with an Athletic or a Brewdog built in there.
@spiffa0 @Brent Pure Project down in San Diego put out a quintuple IPA recently. Sounds vile to me, but...why not?
I didn't like it when I had it fresh a few years ago but I've saved a couple for a few years now as I heard they become pretty decent barleywines after like 7 years or something
I've had one aged and didn't care for it but that was a few years ago, so maybe my opinion would be different.
Hard pass. Most of everything I have had over 10 are questionable. The mega yacht juice had a weird texture almost syrupy in consistency. You could taste the 12% lol. I prefer below 8 and have been trying to drink more in the 5-6% range recently.
word, that makes more sense. hahah. they're a somewhat small brewery in southeast PA so I would've been shocked if they were distributing out by you!
It's true, there's usually a resin-like taste in Triple IPAs and above. Some breweries are better at masking it than others
some of my local shops have been getting Alchemist pretty consistently over the last year or so, which is surprising
