probably, one of those guys walking out with multiple dollies full of cases edit: and by probably i mean definitely
Dan Suarez has built a lot of hype for this over the years. Has been tinkering with it for a while and has said periodically that it wasn’t ready yet. Well, now it is.
Tonight I had another one of the beers @phaynes12 sent me, Dssolver No More Brain Wrinkles, a fruited gose with tons of stuff in it. I like how this leans more traditional than the smoothie beers that are sometimes passed off as goses. Salt and coriander subtle but noticeable. Good stuff. This one though...this was a showstopper. Definitely a beer-wine hybrid, it reminded me a lot of a good natural wine, lots of dark fruit but also earthy funk. Intinction Sauvignon Blanc was a great refresher but more straightforward than this. Also check out what’s inside!
Thanks for all the tips for staying up to date with That Good Beer - I guess I need to beef up my instagram following, I've used beer advocate and untapped for a while but haven't found it super useful for finding out about what's "hot" hahah. One of the worst parts of the pandemic has been not being able to meet up with my friends for our beer club. About 10 of us would meet monthly (ish), and we all would bring a beer we'd never brought before. We drink flight sized amounts of each beer someone brought (so in one night you get to try ~10 different beers depending on how many of us made it), and then we voted for the one we liked best at the end. The winner of each session received bragging rights and the glory of hosting the next session at their place. We never revealed who brought what until after we had all voted, so there was always good healthy competition and heckling involved. We're nerds and meticulously tracked this over the years - passed our 5th anniversary this year!! we've collectively tried almost 400 unique beers in that time. Here's the log with our last few sessions. We're greater boston so New England/Northeast breweries are over-represented usually. Session 45 was a blind night, where we wrapped the beers and didn't know what was what. Trader Joe's performed surprisingly well in this scenario!
Unibroue brews TJ’s Belgian-style beers, so they’re usually really good. I’ve had Audaciter blonde, Providential Golden, and the Vintage...all good to great. La Fin du Monde is my favorite tripel (even including Trappist breweries) so I’m a big fan of theirs. Fun times tonight on Zoom! We’ll be scheduling another one soon, so if any of y’all are interested in (virtually) meeting other chorus members, look out for that! I didn’t take pictures, but I had Weldwerks Ain’t No Hurry, which is essentially an Arnold Palmer in beer form, and Cellarmaker Midnight Silk black lager. Both really good!
Got some tired Hands. Didn't realize I could order for st oners in fishtown and pick it up there. Much more convenient.
Of course I just went to Threes to pick up their anniversary beer and then they drop this beauty today:
Didn’t get a pic but had Old Rasputin on tap after an amazing day of beach exploration in Point Reyes. Got it from a restaurant in the next town over that’s doing outdoor dining. Food was awesome too!
Got some Paulaner Helles, Guinness, and Labatt Blue for the game later. Making guacamole, buffalo shrimp, and Mongolian tofu.
